I agree. From past experience, it can be very hard getting anything done if there are people there who aren't involved. You're more likely to goof off or not practice very hard, and then you muck it up for the rest of us. Not to be all lolsrsbsnsissrs, but with anything like this, focused practice is needed. You're going to stick out like a sore thumb if you haven't bothered, and make the rest of us look bad.

If my 12 year old sister can catch a public bus on her own, you guys can, I'm sure. I used to do it every weekend when I was 15, and mine is a two hour trip. It's a very safe way of travelling.

Hey, what should we wear? I mean, it's silly to wrap up like you're in Antarctica, but it's also silly to come in PE shorts and shirt. You're gonna be sweating, and if you're in PE gear, the wind blows, and you'll catch a cold just like that. Same goes for heavy winter gear, you're sweating, you get hot, your clothes are heavy and hard to move around in.

Bring a change of clothes? Public toilets to get changed in? 'Cause I know I'll need to go - I have a tendency to go toilet in the mornings, probably due to my body flushing out crap from last night. (Wow, just realised that we haven't got the detail details sorted yet).

Unless, there's a semi-indoor place in Albert Park where we can go, or maybe a public gym if such a thing exists.

I'll probably only bring one or two people along, and they'll probably stay for a bit and then go around some shops, come back when we finish, etc. They won't distract me (I think/hope).

I think we might take a bit of time to settle down. What about lunch? Do people wanna go somewhere together after practice? Go straight home? or a mix of both for different people?

Are we gonna have breaks? How many times do we want to at least achieve for practice? What about people who turn up not knowing the dance (I'm not blaming, just saying there might be)? What are we gonna do? Have someone bring a PSP along with the dance in it (with mirror and without perhaps)? What if people can't make it if they just happened to be sick?

What about spectators? Will they stare at us weirdly? Pom poms? We all owe JVCA at least $2-3 bucks. Etc, etc.

Bring a jumper/jacket you can take off as you get warmer. It's not a dance which requires free clothing really, so just be smart with what you wear. If you can't practice at home in it, don't wear it.

It's right in central Auckland. As in, a minute tops from Queen St. So you have everything you need there for lunch, toilets etc.

I'm a dancer myself, so I'm cool with teaching people who aren't sure, and also for running some warm ups (which are a must, especially in winter!). I'm pretty sure I'll have to lag my laptop along anyway, so I'll have the video, both the regular and the 1/4 speed to 1/2 speed reversed.

I'd say getting everyone in time, and comfortable with it, should be enough. Just go until we're happy, or time restraints let us haha.

Can we run it like a proper rehearsal? It'll be less stressful and take up less time. As in:
1. Placements
2. Marking out
3. Full out with counts
4. Full out with music
5. Groups (Each person not performing picks one person to watch)
6. All together

I can bring my camcorder so we can tape ourselves and watch it back?

And also, lip synching? I vote yes =D

Yes people will stare. Haha. All part of the fun.

mmmm ok ... since you want to do place markings then i think we should got to the quad in auckland uni then ...

its not grassy ... theres shelter ... and if im lucky we can get power for our laptops

ie if the quad cafe is open we can practice on the 2nd floor since there will most prolly be noone there

We'd have to anyway, though? The formations change a few times, we'd have to go through it otherwise the whole dance would fall apart haha.

I'm glad that an experienced dancer will be there, lol. n_n;;; I can get pretty much everything except for the cheerleading bit in the middle and the very very end bit - if we could have a step by step walkthrough of that, it'd be good. o_o; My brain can't process the steps and arm movements at the same time when there are so many other people on the very small screen, and I know I could get it easily if someone showed me step by step - it's just that little bit that gets me! T_T

Haha bless! Yeah just work through it with your legs and add the arms once you've got that. It's always easier with a human rather than an animated video, so I'll try my best ^^;

ok i got a better place in mind ...

aut quad it doesnt have as many pbstructions
and theres always that space near the student lounge in the we building ... it might get a little cold but theres shelter
and if we're lucky the student lounge might be open

also looking into using clubspace through the aoadan ... but not sure because seems the room that would be ideal cannot be selecred but *shrugs* my friend will have more information after friday which is when both our exams finish =3

LOL When I first read 'obstructions', I misread it as 'prostitutes'! o_o;;;

So where would we be meeting then? I don't really know my way around AUT at all (never been there, lol) - is there somewhere we can meet outside the campus?

Can you guys record what you did, that'll help me learn it as well.
I mean half the time my character's side isn't shown, so its hard to figure out what they're doing... (if they're moving the same as the others or posing etc)
um... do you know what I mean? O-o

edit: ie at 30-40 seconds... 45ish, and after the 1.05 (in the video I have which starts at the song.)

ok i have watched the dance again and came out with two things

a. misao and ayano will be doing the same moves as the people in the back row
b. the back row is prolly V-formation but not totally sure ... quite happy to experiment and do what looks the best

oh yeah I figured misao/ayano doing the same, but... at like okay 33-36 seconds, you have the left side of the back row doing the elbow thing, and then 36-38 the other side does um zig-zag motion (^^;)

so while the left side is doing the elbow what is the right side doing, including the two at the front - konata and kagami?

get what I mean?

well yeah you guys will experiment anyway =D
but can you guys record it or let us know when you've got it?

I don't know about the two at the front, but I'm under the impression that between 33-38, everyone except maybe the two at the front are doing the same thing. You're on the same side as me, so I can tape me doing (what I *can* do of the dance, lol) so you can see what I've been doing. :3 If you want me to, that is. :)

It so *is*, lol. Watching the video, even though I have most of the steps learnt, I really need to refine my movements - half the time I'm all over the place, lol. o_o; I still have time though! o______________o;;;;;
