[ACB09] Ball photography

So guys - HEY. HEY GUYS. How's it goin'? Good? Good. nyahaha

For one of my final photography projects this year, I'm going to focus on cosplayers, and cosplay culture - specifically, how tribal practices/rituals/other assorted THINGS are expressed and adapted into modern culture; performance culture in particular, and cosplay because, well, I said so.

So at the ACB (and probably DO as well, and very likely also the day after at the gathering) I'm going to be doing even more rabid photography than usual. In addition to the setup off in a corner of the hall, I'll be lurking and inviting people to have their photo taken. If anybody has any objections to this, please let me know! The current project is one I don't actually like, and am trying to make interesting, but with a bit of luck I'll be using this work to kick off a photographic publication on NZ Cosplayers in the future. In like ten years, because that's how long it takes to get photo books published in NZ.....grrr.

But yes! Any objections? Please tell me! And in case any images do actually get published at a later date, I'll track you down for release forms and image previews - so don't worry about stuff going public without your say-so :) That kind of thing would a) piss you guys off, and b) get me sued before I could say DON'T SHOOT.

SO WHO'S KEEN ON HELPING OUT? Or like....not? Razz

All images will be up in my gallery, and I'm more than happy to pull images out if you object too violently. Within reason, of course :3

I'm also keen to do interviews with people - but this is volunteer only. I'll send you a list of questions and just answer them as fully as you want to.

Basically I'll stick up a list of interview questions and my email address, and get people to fill it in. If there's anything that jumps out from the first set of answers I'll follow up with a second set of questions - I may do these in person if I get sorted soon enough (and get myself a dictaphone from somewhere), but most likely it'll be online.

Questions will be the usual - why, when did you start, what is it that you like, etc etc. And probably some specific to the person I'm interviewing.

considering we just had about 18 people in our lounge, i'm sure two will be fine hahaha. & a meet sounds great. 8D the dunedin group doesn't really get to cosplay outside of official events much, so something could be organized. |D
