Eddie/Zato-1 from Guilty Gear By Arki. 13/07/09, 07:30 am |
| So I'm new to the site and cosplay in general, and working on trying to get something together for Armageddon Expo in Auckland, but I've run into a wall.. I don't know anybody who does clothing type stuff, I don't know the first thing about it and I can't hang around the internet for the time it'd take to learn what I need due to health problems. >.<
I've decided I'll do Eddie/Zato-1 from Guilty Gear for an easy first cosplay, but yea.. I have no idea how I'm going to get the costume together.. I need halp!

| On second thought, that might be more difficult than first imagined, but still. SOME Guilty Gear character. Point is, I need help/tutoring on this stuff. -_-
Anyone? |

| I can actually give advice on Zato-1 having cosplayed him before, he's not that difficult to do.
I cheated with the bodysuit and just cut up a black polyprop to have no sleeves and tucked it under some black pants and ran the belt through it (although my buckle wasn't gold) The collar around his neck can be done with just a simple dog collar (although that does get you some awkward moments at the pet store)
The gloves were just really long party gloves with the fingers cut off to look like his ones while the boots are just knee-high boots with red cord replacing the bootlace.
The only really hard part about Zato-1 is his mask. What I did was I used red vinyl cut out in the shape of the mask and joined it using some domes and then cut out a hole in the front the size of the belt so you can see on his mask. Then I stuck a black lycra mesh around the mask to be the belt, because it is a mesh you should be able to see through it enough that you can make out everything and not be completely blind but create the illusion that you are. I then cut out and glued small bits of cardboard to act as the buckle on the mask. |

| random addition-- i know some supermarkets stock dog collars as well. (: i'm pretty sure foodtown in chartwell has them, for one. also, if you want to avoid awkward moments at the pet store, you can always just measure your neck before going in and just go in with a piece of string or sth as long as the circumference of your neck and look for a collar that would fit. (and if the shopkeepers ask, you have "a really big dog. /shifty eyes". shifty eyes optional, but make for more lulz. [ETA: i have a tiny neck though, so i was sweet.])
... /is totally not experienced in buying pet collars for myself >>
............ /also end completely random pointless post |
