Japan Festival - Wellington City Town Hall

Hi everyone, just wanted to spread the word about a Japan Festival that's coming up at the Wellington City Town Hall, 11th July (This coming Saturday), from 1pm to 8pm. There will be performances; Taiko, Judo... a professional japanese calligrapher, a fashion show ranging from traditional japanese costumes to harajuku/shibuya fashion, and other performances as well (not too sure on the details). It's free entry, and there will be food for sale too! Hope to see some of you there if you're interested. :)

I had to stifle a few giggles at the 'cosplay' section. Mainly it appeared to be short maid costumes.

Oh! The first photo there (girl in thr pink dress) is my friend Coco, and in the later photos, on stage, there's a girl wearing a black dress with white ribbon and has a white umbrella, and that's my friend Mel =w=

Makes me wish I had gone now xD. But I have no money (and got up at 3pm OTL;; )

well my problem is I have way too many bad experience with girl, so I alway automatically avoid them? despite I tried not to

btw, nothing to do with her or her dress or anything, I prefer black stuff like gothic rather than the pinky lolita :)

The "ganguro" was...underwhelming, at best. The majority of the fashion show was, really.

Ah well. I got a nice GurrenLagann figure, the drums were entertaining, and Loto was hilarious.

The 'ganguro' girls actually made me laugh, because it is my belief that they were really cosplaying XDD As the band/trio Gyaruru. >w>

Sort of fail on them for portraying cosplayers as a bunch of maid-costume wearing people. They should have recruited some of us!! @A@
