Well the cosplay was better, but the main stage was Micheal Winslow and some girl off some reality TV series. There was still the cool stuff around, but I actually had time to get bored. Like I got Queenie Chan to draw me. And I saw the Girl Who Lept Through Time.
Of course next time I will know more than three people. One was busy as a sand-trooper, and one an official Princess Leia. So yeah this time I have people to hang around.

last year was terrible to me.
i cosplayed Hatsune Miku and no one knew who she was.
i was planning on entering the cosplay contest with Caramelldansen, but then decided against it since people were being dense. D:

but they showed some decent anime.
and Lisa Furukawa always goes down well.

nothing on LA AnimeExpo though. <3

I don't think ANY NZ con will compare to an american one, period. n_n; Also: sadly, geddon is a general pop culture event rather than just an anime event - I think being unrecognised has happened to us all. ;_;

The blood got repetitive, but still really cool. Good visuals and weird. But I seam to have seen some of that lately. Serial Experiments Lain and BoogiePop Phantom.

You should enter the competition. Neither judge is really into the cosplay groups, and they don't care who you are, or what anybody else thinks. Many people enter that do not associate with the cosplayers. Of course we are recruiting well in here.

It is always a risk that people don't know who you are playing. But from what I have seen in the CCC everybody is normally encouraging rather than discouraging. And on CNZ as well. What did they say?

Of course I am new to anime, so don't really know who many people are. I feel like the odd one out. Until someone fanspazzs over something with me, thats cool.

So you like Sci-Fi as well? Firefly?

Lisa is/was cool. And she will be at the ball!!

We are cheaper than LA AnimeExpo I assume!

Both princess leia/judges are SCA members. The head judge who I did not know said she was bringing down #### with her. Like what a common name, but I discovered she meant the #### who spent a week in camping in Waipara with us at an SCA event. Then we all went out for tea after the convention with SCA people.

But Highlander's right - you should never let recognisibility put you off from entering the contest. :) The judges are really sweet, and it's always fun to be able to perform on stage. And you never know - people might recognise you afterall! I didn't think I'd get recognised as Flonne at Auckgeddon last year, but I did. n_n

There is a whole thread on CNZ dedicated to how wonderful Elfen Liad is. Now I have the whole series I just have to find the time to watch it, amongst the rest of my new purchases. I have to watch perfect blue too. I believe someone is doing a Lucy sometime?

The younger mecha stuff and Gundam I would have thought popular. I like FMP, and Gasaraki (Sp?). I am going to do a Sgt Sagura sometime, as I think I could really pull him off well. And my favourite super secret cosplay for CHCH next year will be a Northwind Highlander Mechwarrior (off Battletech books/Mechwarrior PC Game, so not anime.)

You know nobody there will have a clue who I am! I did find one comic shop keeper and one comic artist who did know in 08.

Ultra-violet was O.K., but I thought there is better. Just my opinion. Of course I like some of the B grade sci-fi stuff better than some of the flashy ones.

I could promise to take care of you, but then she don't know me. Maybe if Cyren VK does. Apparently Riven, Aura and Mandie are staying at a cheap backpackers within walking distance. But Riven has been non-specific, and Mandie and Aura don't know. I have not found any such place. But I think we should to get a group booking, make things easier, and so us noobies actually know someone. Also keep our costumes stuff somewhere secure, away fro others. Maybe if we get enough people group book we can get a discount?

DO is very small though - the whole con is like the size of two of the chchgeddon cosplay games rooms stuck together. Quantity sadly does not merit quality. :C I wanna visit an american con, lol. *o*

I think she might be ok with Cyran VK and I'll bring her in at the mid winter ball so she can meet people and she will probably get mixed feelings with a whole bunch of strangers signing a petition.....
