Entering the competition? By Guest. 17/10/09, 01:29 pm |
| Okay, well I was planning to enter the competition and I've just managed to finish the outfit but need to tweak a few things but here's the problem, entries close on the 22nd and by then I'll be at camp. Plus I'm busy all day tomorrow and I'm trying to put together a last minute science fair >.> Any suggestions? Should I still enter the competition? How the heck am I supposed to write how I made my cosplay?
And yes, I am a n00b |

| You can give in the your registration form in on the saturday before midday.
Everyone has trouble writing about how they made their costume 8D I think. Well. I do. I always procrastinate and write the minimal amount haha. I would advise to write about what you used, how you used the materials to make your costume. Try and write down as much as you can remember; Not only are the judges looking at your costume in real life, they're also reading and judging what you write... I think.
For example: I used a pattern, but the pattern was too big for my body shape so I modified it like crazy to make it fit. After trialing it over 9000 times I finally got it to fit properly and so on. |

Just make sure you print it in advance since they're not available on the day. It's just that you can still hand them in if you already have it printed and ready. |

| Also nice to mention if you ran into any big problems with your costume, and how you overcame that problem. Just goes to show the extra thought and construction that went into your cosplay (if you've ever been to art schools, it's like writing a report at the end of a project on how you accomplished the finished piece). |

| Sorry to be a bother but just wondering, when they ask did you make the entire costume yourself does it matter if some of the costume is i something that you already have and maybe edited? |

| It will effect how the costume is judged (obviously making from scratch takes a lot more effort), but it doesn't mean you can't enter. :) Just explain what you did in your form. |
