Hey guys. I am asking for your help to find me or help me find a good cosplay costume I could wear everytime I have an event photoshoot or even just for the Auckland Expos.

I live in Wellington and I cover for some of the events like Homegrown, Armageddon, Carnivals ect.
Speed grapher caught my eye but it wasnt really too eye catchy for me. Ouran Host Uniforms looks good but still need some help.

By the end of May, I will have Jrocker style hair and look different.

Anyone living in Wellington and would love to help me out. Id be glad to spend some time and create some costumes with you as well. I will also give the person a free customized tshirt that I make.

So the guy in the red shirt? Hmm...an ouran host, or any formal-ish school uniform would be really cool :) Watanuki from XXXholic? Raidou Kuzunoha from Devil Summoner? What do you mean by Jrocker hair - wildly colourful, or just gravity-defying? Razz

Yeh, I was about to ask that. are you the one with the red t-shirt? depends on your budget. Jrocker? are you getting your hair coloured? best if you give a reference pic will help.

I live in Wellington but best not count on me cos I cant sew. Well, I can but it isn't as well executed as my sister's. She's the one that sews my costumes, I can do props once and awhile....

Hey, yes I am the guy in the red shirt. And budget is virtually limitless. My Hair might be done brown/pink depending on my friend as she is styling my hair.

Jrocker hair is just wild and spiked up most the time. But it may change to just an all out asian hairstyle.

The only pink headed boy I could think of is the kid from gravitations but i'm not sure how recognisable he is. I would suggest doing the boy from King of Bandits. His costume isnt extremely difficult yet his jacket's pretty eye catchy.

Either that or you could go as the kid from Eureka Seven. His clothes is easy to find. (however I doubt many people will know you're cosplaying unless you are paired wih a eureka girl)

Not pink pink lol. Like Pinkish brown.. Taint Pink as in its all brown but when the sun hits it. It shows a Lil bit of pink.

Just like raspberry and coke. Its brown but u can see its a lil pink aswell.

Where or how would I be able to make the Watanuki from holic? I wear glasses aswell. Half frame glasses. Same shape too.

Hmmm~ If you were to do Watanuki, the most recognisable (and possibly easiest) costume would be his school uniform as seen here (Watanuki is on the left). The pants you could just buy - plain black pants, and plain black school or dress shoes would be fine for footwear. It would just be the top that would be a bit harder to do (as it'd probably have to be sewn from scratch rather than modifying an existing garment).

If it were me, I would use a pattern like this one - http://www.kwiksew.com/Catalog/cat_detail.cfm?pid=3570&QL=MenJacketsVest and make garment B out of black fabric, and use a white zip to get the vertical stripe on the collar, and then just sew on white bias tape around the top of the collar and the ends of the sleeves to get the white bits there. :3 Because you wouldn't be making it out of stretch fabric though, I'd actually make it a size, possibly two sizes too big so you can still get it on and off without the stretch.

Then for the shield (the bit on the front with the buttons on it) you can just draw the shape onto paper, and hold it against your chest to check that it looks right. Once you've got the size & shape right, you can cut two pieces out of the black fabric, and sew them together on three sides. Flip it out the other way so the seams are on the inside, and turn the bottom in and sew it shut on the outside. Then you can just put in three button holes on each side, and sew buttons to the shirt itself, and I think that should be everything. o_O

Hahaha! TOTALLY understandable. The best place to look for reference pictures of xxxHolic is minitokyo - http://browse.minitokyo.net/gallery?aid=444&index=3&cid=0&page=1 (though I warn that there are a couple of shounen-ai fanart scans in there for some reason. o_O) Being a clamp character, he naturally has a bazillion different costumes to choose from, so really it's just a matter of picking which one you like best. :3

have you sewn before? cos i think it's pretty tough. who were you thinking of going as? allen, lavi, komui???

I can give you a hand on reference pics but there is quite a lot of technical work involved in getting their uniforms right. you should try something simpler..that is unless you dont mind the challenge.

probably allen. I have done at school and I have all the equipment needed as my mum used to make formal dresses and I make tshirts.

Well, at least I think I am but I havent decided which one yet.
I want to go as the red outfit but my sister insist I go as the clown. haha we can be twins then... Very Happy

Although, i still dont have a clue how to style a wig...

I keep changing my mind it's really hard to say who i'm going as at this point.
Cause after I posted that Eureka pic when you started this thread, I thought to myself..."hey, why didnt i think of Eureka?"..
Then yesterday I went shopping for Allen's boots but I ended up purchasing some white boots that look like Eureka...so who knows.
