How do I make these bunny headphones? By Squishy blob. 14/05/09, 12:09 pm |
| I'm not sure if I want to use these as accessories or cosplay or both, but they just looked really cute.
Here are some reference pics:
- Spoiler:
I was thinking of using polystyrene/paper mache mix for the head, but I'm wondering about what to do for the ears other than paper mache and chopsticks. Oh, and a headband for the... headband.
Any ideas? |

| Those are cute! Aww, Yuki!
You could use little stuffed toys for the head? You would just need the general pattern, then could stuff it, and use chopsticks or cardboard in ears to make them stick up. It would look really cute with fur or a similar material. For the polystyrene/paper mache idea, for the ears you could cut the shape out of cardboard, or carve the general shape out of foam (you could get a recentange peice of foam, then use a craftknife to carve the shape, don't paint direcrly onto foam though) Also, if you have an extra $15 I would recommend using a type of clay instead of paper mache. They sell it at Gorden Harris, I can't remember what it's called, but it is REALLY LIGHT! And has the same texture as clay so it will be much smoother than paper mache. The only con is there isn't very much and it is way more expensive than normal clay. (Don't get normal clay though! It is way too heavy D:) |

| I would use a pair of old headphones that were just lying around or ask around my friends if they had a broken pair and just create little stuffed covers like firecat70 suggested. Any maybe paint the headband if needed. If you didn't want to use an actual set of headphones, perhaps a headband from Equip or something, painted and attach the bunnies to it? And wire is your friend. *nods* |

| paper~! > I would make like the bunny out of cardboard, (make it hollow for you ears) and then paper macher (can't spell!) cut a slit so you can put a headband and paper macher some more and paint! it wont last forever then... For lasting forever I would look at an earmuff kinda style and if you want them to be headphones, just get a cheap pair of headphones and makes like a bunny tea cozy (but for the ear piece) to put over it 8D
I dont know if that helps or if I've repeated others lol X3 mega cute tho~! |
