Who here still has an Amiga? By Saiyajin Mui. 27/09/09, 10:26 am |
| Just found mine and dusted it off to find that it works. The games on it were really cool at the time, and still are to me.
Anyone else here still have or had an Amiga? If so, what games did you folks like playing.
I'm off to go play Chrono Quest now... |

| I remember the days when I'd play Robocop and Gauntlet II as well. I used to be amazed by Robocop 3's '3D' graphics. |

| Amiga was pretty much my entire childhood. Which is why its my fave gaming machine. I'm much older now so its alot of nostalgia for me. Sadly I no longer have many of the discs for it. so sad. |

| I have not got my amiga any more. But I did get both a A2500, with flakey memory chip. And an A3000. But now have no time to figure them out. However if I can get them working then I will take them to a CCC retro night. |

| My 600's had quite a battering, but I'm still amazed that it goes.
A lot of my games have stopped working though....
Guess I should go to Cash converters or on trademe to see if I can hunt some down. |

| The problem is most are stored on floppies, which are magnetic. Prone to dust and magnets. But also degrade over time. The Disc drives also can go out of alignment, etc, over time too. |

| Yup. Learnt that one the hard way. Also if memory serves me correctly, the 500 only had a limited amount of memory on them. If you didn't have the Workbench system which got introduced to me when I got my 600. You were practically stuffed once the 500 ran out of memory.
One setback to the 600 was a lack of numeric pad which some of my games needed to run. |

| Think gave ours away to Dad and he uses it for keyboard/ typing practice which is kinda insulting. [[*Twitch- Twitch *]] Kind of want to steal it back so can re-play old awesome games like Lemmings, Space Harrier, Blood Money and Barbarian..
..Think those games were Amiga.. ^^'';
But yes usually get the " Why do you want to replay old games " ?? Speech.. >_> |

| I sold mine I used to have an A600 with a huge 2 MB of RAM and an enormous 40 MB HDD plus 100's of floppies with games as well.
I still stand by my opinion that those game have more replayability then the games these days. |

| There was a site called Aminet. As all the amiga games have been abandoned long ago by companies the games are on there. Technically not legal. But lets see them claim damages on something they no longer sell. And not all games are on there, but lots are. |

| I liked the one with the dune buggy on the roller coaster like race track.
And Nuclear War. You could invent cow tech, and launch intercontinental cow pats at the enemy cities. |

| Continued digging in my closet today....
Found me 'Pinball Dreams' as well as 'Pinball Dreams Fantasies'. Also found this neat text based adventure called 'The Hermit' as well as several other games.
I'm so happy that they still work. |
