CRISIS!

I am having a crisis of indecision as to what colour to make some ruffles! Oh noes!

For my ACB costume, I'm making a short bustle skirt, like this:

But bum-skimmingly short. Well, thighs. But short. So far the top layer is finished - it is my beautiful black paisley brocade, and looks pretty physics sweet. But I have a few options as to the colours of the under-ruffles on my bum, and the hem of the lining (peeking out at the frot hem like a petticoat). I have a little bit of silver satin, which would look nice if I wanted to have a lighter colour underneath. I also have a vertically striped black-on-black georgette which would also look amazing, and some black or white or red duchess (matte) satin, white georgette which is a bit lightweight but could be stiffened, OR some black organza, which also needs something slightly stiffer to make it hold its ruffley shape. SO MANY CHOICES! And this is just the stuff I have on-hand, lol...

It will be worn with a black corset (or possibly a navy and silver brocade one) and a top that is royal blue/shot black with white organza frills. I'm hesitant to go with black under-ruffles, because it just feels like a bit too much black - although with a different texture, it may well look great. But I can't decide! Red would also be AWESOME, but I'd have to re-do the top to match, and I can't be arsed.

SOMEBODY HELP! I want to keep sewing, but I can't decide what to do next!

I like the black on black striped georgette (that's in the middle of the photo, right?) and the silvery looking thing on the right of the photo. :3

Yup that's it lol. I love it toooo....but it just feels lik too much black! Argh! I'm now leaning towards silver with a black organza overlay...but it's not striped. sad

The red would look really cool if you were to wear the black corset, not as cool with a silver and blue one though

I really like the white satin, I think it would look lovely on the under-ruffles, and with the silver lining would look really nice~

Okay - I used silver satin with a black organza overlay to take the ege off the contrast. It looks really nice! Thanks guys~ I'll post up a picture when it's done. Unfortunately I ran out of the silver after the bottom ruffle...all 180" of the bastard...so I'll have to grab some more later in the week. Otherwise though, my ACB costume is nearly finished! Woop woop!

I have the skirt in the first pic! Well a different version (the ruffles are black with white pinstripes). It's very cool. Can't wait to see your version Very Happy
