There really isn't much else in Auckland to do on a budget in Winter... We could do something like going to the Zoo or other attractions, but weather and money are big factors =[

The zoo could be kinda fun actually, but is there any transport to the zoo from centre city, for those coming from out of town and staying in the city?

and if we do go to the zoo i believe its 2 stages (i.e.$3.20 for us non-high school students) and catch any bus from downtown leaving from stop D3 they all usually go past the Zoo and Motat 83

I'm in semi-short shorts! ...but I have a long jacket and legwarmers...

The zoo's sounding like a pretty viable option then, and we could do the picnic thing too, heh, as there are plenty of grassy eating areas there. I'll wait to get more responses, and if we have over 20 confirmed (which I think we will), I'll ask around about what people think about the zoo. C:

there is a bowling centre in newmarket which is a stage away from the city

and im a little iffy about winter because you know ... its cold ... animals hibernate ... hibernating animals = not so interesting but the picnic idea sounds like fun 8D

and yes bowling ... lol i have not bowled ... for forever ...

Newmarket's not far at all, so that's good. Hahaha, maybe it should be zoo if good weather and bowling if bad weather? XD If we went bowling, it wouldn't be hard to get to the city afterwards for arcading or whatnot.

wow lol I didn't expect the zoo to be such a hit haha.
Alena, zoo animals don't normally hibernate ^^; There are no bears or animals that naturally do go into hibernation. I've been in the winter before and it's just as good as the summer, even better because of the lack of people.

I think there'll be plenty of people there if we turn up. 8D

Ideas thus far:
Zoo trip + picnic
Karaoke BAR (not as in alcoholic, but as in one giant communal room like in the movies, if these even exist...? lol)
Indoor picnic + games (thinking about possibly doing this in the AUT WE student lounge, if it's open? I think it's usually open on weekends. Will have to check with AuSM first).
Bowling (in newmarket, bus one stage to city for arcade)
Lazer Strike (location???)

Regardless, with all of these (except maybe the zoo?) there'd be arcading as well. c:

If we went to the zoo, they may very well lock all of us up somewhere...
I think AUT are open, hell, I know the AMERICA club got them to give us the law (?) section over Christmas a few years back. That said, it might be that a club gets privileges at times no one else is using the space.
