National Event Sub-Forum By Guest. 30/03/09, 05:07 am |
| Hey mods.
There is always recurring discussion about having a national cosplay or costuming event. SS seems to be even doing some serious work on it. Frankly, I think you're mad SS, and if you have the cash to come to Wellington this Easter for the quilting convention I'm involved with I'll show you why . But in the good madscientist way, not a bad way, and I'll lend all the support I can around Thesis Hell
BUT, I think a National Event Sub-Forum would be handy for some of these organisational things, instead of having them clog up the General Section. Then the different ideas (events, panels, classes, market research, sponsorship, catering, venue management, accounting etc) could be better organised, better collected, and makes serious discussion about what is going to be an MAJOR undertaking easier. It would also be handy if this could be a designated "Serious Discussion Only" area, and the OT-ness controlled as much a possible. Maybe give out some Mod powers for that Subforum?

| I see a fatal flaw in your suggestion...

| COSPLAY IS SRS BSNS KITTEN. D<
I also think this would be a good idea! It is a little more special than just 'general' cosplay, and it means that if we ever get around to when we do organise something, it'll be easier to keep track of all the threads... |

| Draining is a MILD term. My Mum is the head honcho for this quilt symposium. It has COMPLETELY taken over her life for the last 9 months or so. At the moment (slightly over a week to go) she is doing ten hour days in meetings, admin, answering emails.... And she's had a crew of about 50 helping for the last 2 years. |

| Pfft, not selfish at all.
If you like, I'll write up a summary of how this quilting convention was run from an admin/legalistic side, as I have been involved in that side. Maybe after Easter. |
