no no no, its a video game
well games now: Dark Project (the classic oldie), Metal Age, and lastly-recent Deadly Shadows.
Though there's also the fan-made: T2X: Shadows of the Metal Age (free to download.)

3D, first person sneaker really.
You play as... well a thief, try to sneak around castles/mansions/factories/city/ancient ruin etc etc, stealing stuff. But there's far more too it.
You can either do the sneak thing, and creep in the shadows trying not to be seen or heard, or you can go mental and knock or kill everyone if you can (take on 3 guards at a time I dare ya)
Each mission you have objectives to complete like getting a particular jewel/item, listening in to some conversation, meeting/kidnaping someone, finding information on someone/project or whatever (heh sometimes circumstances might change and you get less/more objectives etc)

You got your sword, blackjack and arrows, along with other nifty items... its a strategy-based game too, so makes use of equipment: like the mutli-types of arrows; water arrow that shoots water obviously - good to dose the torch-lamps so you can sneak by, other arrows fire/gas/moss/rope and other equipment.
Depending on what kinda mission you might have some puzzles to solve, or trapped rooms to be wary in... and then there's the freaken cameras (in metal age) if your seen they sound the alarm and guards come a running, or they trigger a trap.

It does have a storyline, and its not all normal(?), its got some um interesting enemies/allies... and other stuffs:

The best part is, there's over thousands of fan-made missions, complete with VA and custom weapons, some of these fan-missions are better then the actual game ones, so you can never run out of maps and missions to play ^^

btw "taffer" is a term used by many of the guards in thief when they're searching for you or talking to each other. "where are you taffer?" "are you taffin' me?" etc
its got awesome voice acting, and dialogue even if your not in a cutscene movie but in the game you can listen in to random conversations - and for the record, guards talk to themselves A LOT lol. If you ever play it, have fun

~ as you can tell its probably my second most favourite game series (after kingdom hearts)
