Charity Picnic

JK emailed me the other night with this pretty cool idea :) The idea is that we have a Picnic gathering, and that everyone who attends brings $5. That $5 goes into a box. At the end of the Picnic, the total amount of money in the box is counted and then donated to a charity of our choosing.

It seems a bit random, I know, because charity and cosplay are pretty much unrelated, but I think it would be a great idea and it would give us a good name too. Very Happy

I was thinking Red Cross Victoria Bushfire aid... or the Sally Army, since they give us cheap cosplay needs. ;)

You might want to add that people can donate more if they want to. Or less if they are having financial difficulties, and such (AKA very poor students). :)

But aren't you going to Vanuatu in the Winter holidays which make it the holidays after the Geddon ones? Which means we could have it after Geddon in the holidays? We'd have already-made cosplays xDDD

I'm going all holidays. For like, a week.

Actually they are not that unrelated :) There are lots of costuming clubs that do exactly that :) The 501st and Rebel legion for example, and there are some groups in the US for superhero themed costumers to do the same.

It's a great idea :)

BUT SRSLY GAIZ. What Madja said with the Red Cross Victoria Bushfire aid or the Salvation Army is good. I like it.
