Cons outside of NZ.

Do people put together groups to goto the American, Japanese and i think Korean Cons.
Anyone going to future non-NZ cons and what not?

I hope to go to some of the cons in Canada and the north of USA at some point in the future. Not for at least 2 years, though.

I'm actually considering taking an OE to go around cons for a year...

I've been to Malaysian cons :3 And I know they def. do cosplay groups XD
And yeah, I think everywhere in the world for cosplay they organise groups.

@Tim Tam ~ I think he means do Kiwi Cosplayers get into groups and travel together as such?

I'm being allowed to go to an American one when I go with my dad =D
And sometime a Japanese one when I go with my sister.

Dude, I can't afford to go to Wellygeddon, let alone epic things that occur overseas.

THOUGH WHEN I GET MYSELF INTO GEAR AND GO TO JAPAN I SHALL GO TO A CON. But I won't cosplay, 'cause I'll only fail in comparision to the wonder that is the Japanese race.

Well, if people can organize the geddons here, picnic and what not. Why not a group for overseas. Who are obviously more Epic than we are.

The biggest problem is that most of the NZ cosplayers are teens, and thus are poor/under the control of their parents/being educated full-time/etc.

While I'm thankful that most (most...) parental units are willing to let their teens run about the country in strange clothing I think very few would be too happy about letting their darling babies off overseas.

Unless it was to Oz.

Have em bring friends the old Nags trust. For World Youth Day we had to meet our adult supervision in Aus. Most of them were still teens lol.

Meh...perhaps something like a permission slip?

I am pretty sure they do. I have seen a lot of cosplay groups on Youtube that all dress up from the same series and go to cons. And there are cosplay clubs as well (I saw a video from somewhere in America-land where they were playing musical chairs).

Non-NZ cons are on my to do list. I am thinking of doing an exchange sometime within the next few years through uni and going to California. In which I will be ~~going to as many cons as physically possible~~ studying hard.
Last time I went to the USA, we left a week before a huge anime convention (and got food poisoning in Disneyland. R to the AGE!)
