Watchmen?!

Ok, so this is like the comic-book of all comic books. It's been in development Hell for something like 20 years, written by God!Alan Moore (as opposed to Creepy!Alan Moore), and may well be the most important film to come out in 2009. Or it may suck HARDCORE, coz Zac Snyder may be a fanboy but he's not God.

Who's phyced? Who's dreading? Who's actually read it?

oooo Don't tell any Watchman Fans you called it a comic book! They will kill you big time!! Its a GRAPHIC NOVEL...I got told off by my mate Andrew about 4 times for calling it a Comic Book...lol

I can't wait for the Movie! The Novel is great! and if I could I would go as SilkSpectre to the Premier!

I am SO keen for the movie. Mostly because when I read the Graphic Novel, I was absolutely blown away at how absolutely BRILLIANT it is.

If the movie is ANYTHING like the Graphic Novel, the world will be a better place.

I will admit, I am kind of scared it's going to suck. But either way, the trailers look cool so my hopes are up.

so many people make secrets about watchmen. although, lately secrets have been more about hetalia. that seems to be the love/hate topic du jour. it was twilight before... eeeh. dr who also seems to pop up a lot as well.

There's a blog just for spoilers?! I HATE spoilers. Plus I'm really good at picking plots from limited information, so the internet is a really dangerous place for me when a movie I want to see it coming out.

The best comment I ever read about the Watchmen was "Wow, the hand-to-hand kung-fu fight between Rorsharch and Manhattan at the end is going to be AWESOME". (This is only funny to those who have READ the thing).

I can't wait, and at the same time, I'd rather it never happened. It is almost certainly going to change the message, although probably not as much as Vendetta did, and well I'm SICK of the entire complicated themes of awesome stories being boiled down to "Good vs Evil". Coz SOOOO not the point!

And comics = sequential art* and books = bits of paper with glue down one side so it's a comic book *nyah*nyah*nyah*nyah* Razz

I've wanted to buy it for so long, but comics graphic novels and manga are damn expensive for a thirteeen year old who isn't allowed to get a job till after Uni.

Yeah, SS got it in one. It's very long, very meta. Some of the characters talk about reading early Superman comics. And it's a pretty chunky graphic novel. One of the biggest published in one hit I think. There's no point going to the library - I've never seen it in Wellington (either coz it's always out of they don't have it, not sure) and I'll bet you $20 the Kapiti Coast Libraries don't have it. And it's something like $60 in bookshops (and your best bet is Whitchoulls and its not a good bet). It's actually thoroughly unpleasant in many places too. Alan Moore pulls no punches.

I like it...I love the original better though...nothing beats original Bob Dylan...

MCR's version is the only present-day song on the soundtrack, as will be playing on the End Credits...The Police and Billie Holiday with Jimmy Hendrix as well as many others are part of the soundtrack...break out the old school vinyl and break it down...!!! Love it...

I'm really looking forward to it. I read it when my friend was all "If you haven't read Watchmen, You haven't lived"
So I read it, then found out about the movie.

I'm Keen to try and cosplay Rorschach for the premier...

I would say that sewing something that you could use again and again is worth sticking with more than a movie...but ITS WATCHMEN!!

My parents scored free tickets to the premire thing.
It was BRILLIANT.

Now I need to read the graphic novel, so I can complain/marvel at the accuracy of the movie adaption...

Yeah a couple of friends of mine got to see the free preview. A couple of them decided it wasn't worth their time and didn't see it all, another one told me that it dragged out in the beginning, that there was more backstory than actual plot and I still have yet to see it. >______>

These reviews are coming from people who have never read the graphic novel.

COME ON SOMEBODY WHO HAS READ IT. Is it as epic??

yea i agree it dose at the start but then it hits ... Hard!
