ADP: Anime Dunedin Project Meeting Details

Ok, since I've noticed a lot more people from Dunedin have signed up to the forums, it might actually pay for me to advertise here again.

The ADP (Anime Dunedin Project) has been Dunedin's local anime club since 2004, we meet up weekly on Friday nights during the university period. Our membership is free and our general group are friendly and relatively easy to get along with. We are a mix of high school students, university/polytech students and graduates. With a variety of interests so don't hesitate to try strike up a conversation with us during break.

Meetings are pretty straightforward, we sit down and watch anime, that's basically the jist of it, however we do have a 1 hour break in between our 3rd and 4th episode screening for food outings and general socialising so it's NOT just sitting down and watching anime for 4 straight hours, that would be kinda boring.

We have currently reached the end of our playlist for the year and after Meeting 28 will be test screening series for next year's hypothetical playlist. However, we still have Great Teacher Onizuka to finish and we have also now added into our playlist, Baccano!, which will also run until the end of the year. It is encouraged that you bring your own suggestions for next year.

84 Albany Street
OUSA Clubs and Societies Building
Usually the Otago Room or the Evison Lounge

Time: Fridays 5pm - 9pm

Playlist:

- 3 Empty Episode Slots. We are open fo suggestions for new series to watch next year if we continue to run. Feel free to bring the first episode of any series you wish to screen at club.

- One hour break for food outings and general socalising

- 2 episodes of Baccano!
- 2 episodes of Great Teacher Onizuka

Not that it really matters since not many people if any from here come to ADP but next year's series playlist has been decided:

- Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann
- Vandread
- Umineko no Naku Koro ni
- Great Teacher Onizuka
- Cowboy Bebop
- The Wallflower

I honestly am interested in those series LOL but i got an issue: I do Jyps and sometimes youth group + new puppy + Uni = Really can't get there on fridays..

Any chance i can do an anime trade to get copies? o_O;;

I like a number of those series... Ryan may make more than 3 appearances this year.

Say lennon, i dont know if you got my message on MSN, but i stuck a section on Oshare Curry under New Zealand Visual Asia i think it was directly for ADP discussion, this was NOT to bowl you guys over, take you over.. I have this massive plan to like liason with groups and stuff so people have more wide variety of information. I know CNZ has ADP info in it's forums, but look it can't hurt if it's alright?

I came up with the idea because i already did my first flyer run when i went to go pay my uni fees, and thought "what the hey."

So yea- if someone wanted to be a rep from ADP they can even do article postings... heck Lucky/Jamie somerville used to write for OC.

I have totally needed to go back to the ADP forums and mentino this stuff ... but i keep forgetting, and i dont remember my password etc.. so i'll go check that out soon.

Hopefully that's ok?

Also i thank Lennon for being very accomodating, as sometimes the confusion between both clubs can be intimidating. DCCAS is the OUSA affiliated (In a few days) "popular asian culture" club lol, however ADP tends to offer room for younger members, which alas - DCCAS cannot do.

So we have discussed things with OUSA, it would seem that ADP is fine as it is with its current arrangement.

I have also modified the first post to basically reflect the schedule of all future meetings as this is what it will basically like for the whole year until the above series finish.

I'm not a student, nor past student as Im a UoA grad working in Invercargill.
But I'm looking to come to Dunedin to visit friends once ever 2-3months,
so Id be keen to check it out.

ADP Meetings have been occuring on a weekly basis since the start of March. If you'd like to come, feel free to just show up during a meeting and watch.

Just normal clothes. There aren't actually many cosplayers in Dunedin... at least none that seem to do it regularly at events outside seraphik and myself.

Also, you've only missed 2 meetings thus far, so you haven't missed all that much.

It would most likely be the Friday after Good Friday (April 9th?)... assuming Clubs & Socs is at least open till 8:30pm during mid-semester break.
