Yoko's Rifle By KotoneVersus. 12/01/09, 05:29 pm |
| Okey. So, spur of the moment watching TTGL, I've decided I'm cosplaying Yoko from Gurren Lagann at Wellygeddon (day unknown). And I want a rifle. A big one.
Obviously, there are problems. It's too big and sort of too delicate to be made with Papier Mache, and I have a very limited budget so I can't buy a (fake) replica online.
Help would be nice. Really really nice. Dx
Any alternatives? |

| Trust you to have ref pictures of Yoko.
okay, that looks like it's going to be a combination of PVC pipes. :) For the end, you'll probably want to use craft foam to add the shaping: it's light, easily malleable and fairly sturdy. Don't use clay - that will make it too heavy. But for the little nobbly things & extra texturing around by the handle, you can use clay to add those. In my opinion though, you should be able to just get away with craft-foam & pipes. Lightweight and cheap, woo! |

| Oh wow, that's really cool, thanks. I'll give it a go.
(Random input about guns) - My brother was paranoid that the gun would look to realistic and the police were going to come raid our house. XDDD |

| What you are looking for is a standard issue PSg-1 with an over sized silencer you can make one out of a large pipe a $2 shop assult rifle a small card board box a nerf gun scope and a large piece of wood carved to be the silencer and then just hot glue/melt/spray paint everything untill it looks right. A problem I see with this outfit is that you will have to be very carefull how and where you wear it as it is awefully revealing. |

| Surely you the so called "god" you can do better than that! Have you not seen the trumpet ad as im sure kitone doesnt want to carry around a cup of water all day for it to be considered swim wear as opposed to underwear |

| I am attempting to keep them as such I am also attempting to restrain myself from flaming you completely. Kitone do what you wish just keep in mind that it may or may not attract certain unwanted attention as certain persons have made obvious already |

| Lol. You tend to be a bit uptight about this stuff, so Im trying to wind you up
But yeah, like ballmung said (and I do occasionally agree with him), this costume will get "attention"... If you are up for it, go for it... Heck, I certainly would stalk whoever does yoko! Well, I guess I am actually kinda harmless at the end of the day, but still stalkery! |

| I am well aware you are that you are attempting to wind me up it just takes a whole load of effort not to tear you to peices. anyway if you are wanting that kinda attention then go for it I can think of very little ways that I am allowed to post about that would do the job just make sure you check the convention rules before you go |

Re: Yoko's Rifle By KotoneVersus. 13/01/09, 05:55 am |
| @ Everyone concerned about revealingness, I'll probably decide it's too cold to do original Yoko so I'll give Timeskip Yoko a go (probably) because at least the jacket will cover bits and pieces.
Besides. You have to love attention to love cosplay. Why not stand out a little bit?
@ B3rry, that would be SO convenient if I could use it for Wellygeddon. Thank you so much. Dx Will you be able to lend it to me at Wellygeddon? I'm still undecided as to what the day I'm cosplaying, but all the same it would be SO good. |

| I've decided I'll be going on Saturday. There are going to be some TTGL cosplayers already that don't have a Yoko. =3 |

Re: Yoko's Rifle By Rolly. 19/01/09, 11:15 am |
| The only thing I would be concerning about is the skimpyness... >o<
I won't have a secure feeling if I just wore a bikini.... you'll never know, you might catch it on something in the crowd, gets pulled, and comes off. Uwaaaah! Unless you wear one of those bra things you wear under a formal ball dress.
You can do Youko after the timeskip. She has a tie and is not skimpy at all. The - Spoiler:
teacher dress , if I remember correctly?
I dunno, it's up to you. |

Re: Yoko's Rifle By KotoneVersus. 20/01/09, 05:26 am |
| I've already got most things sorted. I'm bringing two-ish cosplays for Saturday, Yoko before time-skip and Yoko after, as in with a Jacket and longer boots. I'll go transformers if I get cold or feel too exposed. XDD
I do have a bra that I can use, not to worry.
And I think I might do that dress later on. So I can re-use the wig. |

Re: Yoko's Rifle By Guest. 20/01/09, 06:01 am |
| I really dont like her dress its kinda boring oh you gotta remember that first Yoko and 2nd Yoko are diff. 1st Yoko has a scaf thing and gloves. 2nd Yoko has a jack but no scaf or gloves. just thought i'll point that out just incase XD
you could always just do a consept and take Kaminas cape... |

Re: Yoko's Rifle By KotoneVersus. 20/01/09, 07:22 am |
| Yeah I know. Minor differences, hence the whole transformers thing. I'm a bit of an elitist when it comes to accurate cosplays. Dx
And stealing Kamina's cape would be cool. I think Pyro might be making it, so I can steal that at some point. She doesn't know this yet though. |
