Practically anything!

I've found Paper Mache works well for armour, or you could get something expensive from art shops - foam something-rather. I made Sephy's armour by getting those heavy tin foil platters from the warehouse, beating them into shape, then a few layers of paper-mache. The most important thing I've found with armour is designing a way to attach it to your costume - something I neglected to do properly and so spent the day hot-gluing it on :)

Other's have made armour of old bits of computers, cardboard, plastic pretty much anything. The amount of armour you're making is important. You could deal with just a few REALLY heavy bits strapped to you (ie if you were just making Cloud's Pauldron) and it wouldn't be too expensive to use some good materials. But if you made an entire suit out of something something expensive and heavy like real metal you'd be a) broke and b) crushed by the weight of it.

For the crown it depends on what size. Du-kit could work well for gems if was just small, or you could start with a cheap tiara from Spotlight and work up from that.

It's really hard to give specific advice without specific info!

Well, you destroyed the question with your answer *looks at ash pile of question* :,(

Anyway. Tin sounds easy to work with. Can these materials be coloured easy? or do i need alot of dye and paint?

If i wanted to make a Metal Cos, i'd base it on the Brother hood of Steel Armor mwahahaha but i wont.
