Aladdin & Disney movies - aka I'm lame By Guest. 02/01/09, 10:08 am |
| So I'm watching Aladdin for background noise. Not only can I sing along to each and every song, but I can also recite along most of the dialogue. And Robin Williams talks really fast in some parts!
Whats your fav Disney film? "All of them" is totally acceptable. :) |

| I have a tiny tiny obsession with Disney Songs...even HSM Songs...I know I know, Death to SS etc etc, but they are just so damn catchy!!
I have to say that after being made to watch "The Little Mermaid 2" in the Kids Wing at Kew Hospital in Invers, I am soooooooo off those movies...
But I do love Hercules and The Lion King!! (the First one, so not the 2nd or 3rd)

| Aladdin is the favourite all the way..
however lost the DVD and has spent hours /months searching for it..
;[ * Is hurt by the pain *
Little Mermaid would be second, then Hercules..
The Villain in Mermaid was very cool, loved the song that she sung..
The Disney Females werent helpless in the movies, but they were very damsel/ very helpless like in Kingdom Hearts 2 which was annoying/ werid.. |

WAIT. HOLD THE PHONE! You've never seen The Little Mermaid?! And it's SO not the only one where the chick isn't helpless. Belle - not helpless. Jasmine - not helpless. Nala - AWESOME. Esmerelda - AWESOME. Pocahontas - AWESOME too. Megara - So beyond not awesome, and the best not-love-song to date! Mulan - don't make me come in there. Princess Kida - not helpless. Lizza Swann - Can't see awesome with a pirate telescope. Incredibles - none of them are helpless. The Pevensie girls - not helpless.
See, lots of non-helpless chicks. Admittedly, lots of the older chicks were kinda helpless. Sleeping Beauty by definition is :)
Little Mermaid Spoiler:

And there aren't any pirates in The Little Mermaid. Sorry.
See, i don't actually watch that many disney movies. i think i've seen maybe, one of them. No... b-b-but... how... DREAM CRUSHER! Ill never watch another disney movie again, just incase there aren't any.... any... DREAM CRUSHER! |

POTC, Treasure Planet, Sinbad (not actually Disney just looks like it), ummm... All OVER the show!
You have to watch Disney. How are you supposed to learn important life lessons without Disney Films? Like being true to who you are, and not caring about appearances, and believing in true love and yourself, the non-importance of money, friendship, and, most importantly, how to get the entire crowd to join in spontaneous song!
And Treasure Planet KINDA copies "Titan AE" (which is awesome) but they more copying from "Treasure Island" which is about 300 years older. |

It's been SO long since I read "Treasure Island" but I thought they did a pretty good job - I mean they had to squish it into 1.5 hours or something and keep it interesting for kids. But the solar surfing... *joy* that sequence was a bloody work of art. It's why I trust Disney with my childhood, but not Michael Bay.
Those Dredj are pretty cool. And it's one of the few kids sci-fi movies I've ever seen that has the science of working in space even remotely right. I remember seeing a tv show where the chicks HAIR floated out from under her helmet. D'uh. |

| have you seen event horison they have it pretty sorted the only discrepancy i found in titan ae science wise was when they used the fire extinguisher to jet them across space without any sort of space suit at which point they would freeze and die pretty much instantaniously which i kinda loled at as a kid and wondered why they didnt wear a bigger jacket lol\ |

| I was actually under the impression that you had about a minute - a VERY cold minute and one that would probably take out a few capillaries due to the vacuum. But provided you breathed out so your lungs didn't explosively decompress first you could survive. Not sure where I got the info it actually works though - I doubt anyone tested it! And the fire extinguisher would totally work - it pushes one direction, you go the other. It's the same principle as the little jetpacks they actually use. |

the fire extinguisher would definitely work i would wonder what the 0kelvin would do to the moisture of the body especially the eyballs and the bladder i would lol if someone tried it and turned out all good i could just see the briefing now commander says: "Now son you have been chosen for a very important mission into space you are going to go and take a space walk without a space suit and a fire extinguisher to jet you around go now FOR SCIENCE!" janitor: "Oh physics this sugar honey iced tea |

| My favourite Disney movie is Aristocats. Has anybody heard about the new Disney princess thats coming out? Its the princess and the frog, and she's an african-american named Tiana. Apparently it will be their last 2d animation ever. |

| Wow. Haven't heard anything about that! Man, I don't see why they feel the need to get rid of the 2D animation. The Lion King was a work of art and it was only 2d - the animation style is one of the LEAST important things in how cool a movie is |

| If you ask me, I'd prefer if they did away with 3d animation. My sisters obsessed with Disney at the moment, and has gone mad buying all the DVDs, and watching 2d is much more enjoyable. |

Holy Crud I ADORE disney, I'm always watching one disney movie or another, I love too many of them to decide on a favorite
Hell I made this post just after watching The Little Mermaid:Ariels Beginning...and yes I liked it XD Can't wait for the Princess and the frog, not only is it a 2D animation but it is going to be done in the old school musical style XD
*added bonus* I own all the Disney Compilation CD's and am famous for blaring them out of my room on a regular basis. |

Re: Aladdin & Disney movies - aka I'm lame By Guest. 03/01/09, 02:09 pm |
| Your sister should be prepared for *some* disappointment if she wants the whole back catalogue. I spent several months trying to hunt down Beauty and the Beast for my sis (it's her fav and we didn't have a copy). It seems that Disney have this bizzare system where the older ones are only available for sale once every 7 years. This year appears to be Sleeping Beauty's year. But last year even the DISNEY website refused to sell me one. It admitted the DVD existed and could tell me the price but refused to sell it to me because it was currently unavailable!
Checking now... No you're not done, stop lying to me stupid website... No I don't want to know about other movies I might like, I want to know about buying B&tB
Aha- not currently available. WHYWHYWHWYWHWWHYWHY!
I have the Disney Music too!!! What on EARTH is that "Femininity" song doing existing?? |

My sisters obsessed with Disney at the moment, and has gone mad buying all the DVDs, and watching 2d is much more enjoyable. Yeah same 3rd Animation isn't that great, though Dreamworks is kind to blame for it not Disney Disney is trying to catch up and get the fanbase back and the poplaurity back from the latest Dreamwork pictures..
Read a book about Disney information last year during Media Studies and the story is quite sad, after the Lion King was made one man wanted to take over but they wouldn't let him so he joined Dreamworks pictures and gave them the idea for 'Sherk' which was created to mock/ tease the Disney movies and pictures - ie The Princess would turn back into a monster than her normal human self, mocking B & B and trying to make Disney seem shallow
They are also getting rid of the 2D animation set because of the fights and agurements that occured after that person left the Disney company, and they closed the 2D place because some staff left, but they tried to bring it back again.. but it's failing..
Might try and find the book online if anybody is keen, though forgotten what the book was called. They also said that Disney has been through a dark period before, and Little Mermaid brought them back into the show - they are hoping for a second ''Mermaid ''..
