[ACP08] List of Games

Okay - so, here's the place where all the current known games (or, at least, the ones my terrible memory can think of) are listed, and here also, is the place for you to suggest games 'chu wanna play at the picnic. =3 Please feel free to suggest anything. More games = mucho moreo fun-ness. Just keep in mind that we'll have... about 40+ people there. :DD And that, there's a small chance your game idea might not be used, either because of lack of time to run it, lack of participants or lack of equipment. >_<;;

With your suggestion, give a brief explanation of how to play and what's required. And if we like it, we'll let you know. ;D

I loved the make a story thingy, and it would be neat if we could do follow the leader. And uuh. Bitty Bitty Bop! Which we never played. xD And Areba. Hang on a 'sec - did I ever explain those before? And if not, do I need to explain them here?

OOOH! WAIT! A spontaneous conga line around the park would be cool. xD We can scare people with our awesome cosplays.

Ice-cream eating contest with a little tine spoon and yeah don't ask i just eat ice-cream today with the smallest spoon in the house yes I'm an idiot. I like the 'Make a story' game thingy.

Kitty Wants a Chair

One person is standing in the middle of a circle of chairs, each with a person sitting in one. They say to someone "Kitty wants a chair." The person they ask must reply "Go ask my neighbor." Whilst this is happening, other members sitting in the circle must make eye contact with other members, and if this occurs they must switch chairs. Kitty, the person in the middle, must try and get a chair for herself, basically, by being quick and seizing one from an exchange that's occurred behind her back.

Areba

Everyone stands in a circle. They pass a "clap" by clapping at one person next to them and exclaiming "Areba!" This clap can be passed around the whole circle, and may change direction. To spice things up, people can say "Underlay!" and move down to the ground in some fashion. The rest of the circle must imitate them. Once this has occurred, the person who started the underlay must then either continue the Areba, or do one of the following: Tequila or Hay Barn. Tequila, is where they say Tequila, and move to another place in the circle by dancing to the other side and singing the Tequila song. Everyone must switch places, doing the Tequila dance. (Ack, this is hard to explain via keyboard - I'll have to explain properly on the day, or if you ask me nicely, I can try film it.) Hay Barn, on the other hand is where the clap at someone on the other side of the circle. This person must then reply Ho Barn, and pass it to another person on the other side. And so it goes on. It's simple, but is very very fun. ^^

Bigger and Better

All teams start with a small item such as a paperclip, eraser, etc. Each team must have something different, and there should be a pile of other such "worthless" things. In a set time limit (maybe 10 minutes) each team must "upgrade" their paperclip to something bigger, and better by using their charismatic and merchanting skills. (hmmm - thinking about it, this one my not work that well >_<)

Bitty Bitty Bop

The BEST game ever. Seriously. One person is in the middle of a circle. They then give commands to the rest of the circle. The most simplest, is "Bitty Bitty Bop", and whoever they say it to must respond with "BOP!" before the command giver can finish their sentence. If the command giver says "bop" however, the receiving person must stay silent however. If you fail to do either of those, you're in the middle. The next command up, I suppose, is giving out the name of a celebrity (although we could change it to a character). The receiver must then pose like the character/celebrity, whilst everyone else in the circle takes pictures of them. Other commands require three people to get involved in under 10 seconds - for example, toaster, and the person who receives the action must be the piece of toast, and both people on either side of them must be the sides of the toaster. Here's a list of actions:

- toaster: person has to be the toast, and jump upwards saying ding! whilst neighbors hold out arms forming the sides. (like |[ | ]|)
- washing machine: person in middle has to spin arms round like a washing machine, whilst partners hold arms out
- elephant: person in middle makes arms into trunk, persons on either side form ears
- palm tree: person in middle shakes arms above head, people on either side become the leafs and shake those
- shortland street: person in middle pretends to be dead, people on either side shout "clear!" and do the actions, whilst whole circle jumps
- Charlie's angels: self explanatory: the typical charlies angel pose

Of course, you can make up many more - on our Shakespeare trip down to Wellington, we made up several on events of what happened - e.g. Dance Machine, Crossing the Road, Flamingoes. They were all based on amusing incidents that occurred.

South Wind Blows

Again, one person in the middle of a circle. They have to say something true about themselves, in the format of "South Wind Blows on everyone that hates pink." The people sitting in the circle must then race to another chair if they themselves hate pink, whilst the person in the middle must try and get themselves a chair.

ack.. did I really write that much? xD Thanks for finding it for me, Aaaaaaaangie. Very Happy

and, very good question, Mika-chan! I have, no idea. ^^;; I didn't think that through very well... I guess, what we could do is have a person behind a booth (make shift booth, of course ;3), who you have to go up to and trade with - by doing quite a show of it. Like, exaggerated begging, and making up excuses. And if the audience/booth person approves of your display, then they get the Trade up. As well as that, groups can go around the audience and try and get random junk off them. Like, a tissue. o_O;; Maybe I should issue some $2 shop things then.. and then at the end of the game, the group gets to keep all of the things they acquired.

I'm guessing the audience is whoever decides not to play?
And whoever else in the park that decided to watch... o_o;

Oooh, and we can make it so that if the booth-person doesn't approve of the people begging for an upgrade, and depending on the situation, their item can get down graded...? o_O

Yep, the audience is anyone who's not playing. I'm hoping we won't get an audience of general public, but we're bound to really.. >_<

I think the trading game thing would work best if you had to convince other people that your item was better than theirs, and see if they wanted to trade, and then at the end, each participant explains to the audience why the item they've ended up with is the best, and whoever is deemed to have traded up to the best item by the audience wins? Ionno. o_O Sounds kinda complicated...

I wanna do South Wind Blows - we could make it the North wind - y'know, north island and all XD

battle free for all was: get the coolest battle-boss music in the world, and everyone who wants to, charge and fight one another in complete and utter chaos. ~ just dont hit hard... and that was basically it.

Yeah, well if we were doing the dance version I have the mixes, lol that was the dance game I was most looking forward to but we decided not to do it cause the general dance event was dragging on too long =P

JVCA's got the struggle bats doesn't she. I'd say, since we dont have time for the balls, just do what we did at auckgeddon but have 10 hit limit or something.

Yeah I was thinking that, while one games going on hold another. It'll mean we can get through more games, and also that people who dont want to play one can play the other etc.

actually - if we hold two games at once - we'll need to inter disperse judges so that we can award prizes accurately at the end. ;)

Free for All battle sounds bloody cool. xD To put it bluntly. Yeah - as you say, we'd just have to say no contact hitting. So in that case - make it slow motion? Heh heh.

Edit - actually, we should probably go over this at the meeting.. Like, what games when, groups going at the same time, judging etc.

We could play the celebrity game (Or whatever you call it) where a couple of people get a sheet of paper taped to their head with the name of a famous celebrity( Or in our case, anime/manga/game character) and the people have to guess who they are by asking yes'no wuestions. First person to guess who they are wins.

And we MUST play 'Honey, I love you!!!"
