Percy Jackson and the Lightening Thief By Aikome. 12/02/10, 08:42 am |
| The trailer/s looks like crap.
cbf with the link, YT it ^ ^; =w=; seriously. The people cast for Annabeth, Grover and Athena are wrongwrongwrong. / / huff / / . . .but I'm still going to see it. Gotta say that "Percy" looks darn near perfect for his role. I read the whole book series because my sister said it was pretty great. And I think it is. Anyone else ~? Y/Y. <33 movies been a long time coming. |

| Isn't the whole premise that the Olympian gods are promiscuous tramps who have illegitimate children all over the word?
And those kids all hang out at summer camp forever?
And Hitler was the son of Hades?
idk, I never read past the first book... |

| Yeah, for me it's another one of those "Ooh, that looks like a crappy movie adaptation of a good book. I think I'll watch it anyway."
Percy was also the only casting choice I agreed/didn't disagree with. But I seriously want to see how Pierce Brosnan will turn out as Chiron. |

| Ha. So I watched it today ~! . . a-and. It was kinda worse than I thought. T-T;; it was good as a movie ( nothing great though ) but as an adaption / something based off the book, it failed. It was totally weird how Grover in the movie was waaay off, personality as well as appearence wise.
I haven't read the last book yet either . . ^ ^;

| Want to go read the book instead, the books usually is the better one and will last longer. The movie does look like it's worth a watch but would rather go hunting for the novel and spend a month or two enjoying every page... |

| It surprises me how popular it is at the movie theatre right now (blah annoying children) I don't think the movie like sme though....when i was making up the Standee (yeah giant cardboard thing of death) at work it tried to kill me. Got so many carboard cuts, and it fell on me so many times....this thing is almost twice my height and despite being mad eof Cardboard it weighs a freaking tonn (must be all the nuts, bolts and stobe lights in it O_o) |

| The movie was....alright. It was entertaining enough. I think the guy who played Percy wasn't a particularly good actor...he squinted so much! It was like the only way he could show emotion.
And...
- Spoiler:
I'm sorry but he thought his mother was dead, his reaction? A sigh. And a few more sighs. Oh come on.

Truthfully the book depicted the action scenes almost better than the film. Disappointing really. < . <;; The Hydra was pretty impressive though. |

| tbh, hated this movie, as a person whos never read the book, so in terms of a stand alone movie.
I'm in media studies at school, though, so unless its something jam packed with crazy crud like transformers or basically any japanese movie that makes no sense, I just can't enjoy movies like this DX |

| It was pretty much crud. As a fan of the books I was *seriously* disappointed. And Percy's hair--IT ANNOYED ME SO MUCH. Of all the mistakes and errors from the transliteration it's a pretty minor one to point out, but it really did annoy me.
- Spoiler:
Also: what was with Persephone being all dominatrix? It was seriously weird. She's goddess of SPRING people, not whips.
The one thing I liked was how they did Hades. Very, very different to how I imagined it, but kind of (lol) cool. Apart from that, the entire movie irked me. Grover is NOT a black guy. |

| .....It was okay, I was expecting something a lot more.
Maybe, you know. Actual hints of a backstory between Annabeth/Luke?
Also WTF about cutting out Chronos. Seriously WTF.
I did kinda like Annabeth's eyes though.

I did too, for eyes, I guess... But they are supposed to be grey, are they not? They also left out Clarisse! And the whole Percy being in the Hermes house to begin with! AND they completely changed the whole parental-cabin setup thing. GRRR. This is makign me even more annoyed now I analyse it... As much as I love seeing books turned into movies purely because it's a change of medium, I hate it when they completely mess up my favourite books. Harry Potter. Percy Jackson. I Capture the Castle. Sense and Sensilbility.... |

It was ridiculous when they stayed at the Locus Hotel-thingy. COMPLETELY OFF. They acted waaaay out of character, especially Grover.
I thank god they haven't thought to make the next one. ^ ^; |

Sense and Sensilbility.... They were supposed too. I guess they were...greyish? More darker than I thought it would of been. I always thought that they would of been light steel grey? But they were pretty much her dominating feature which is closer to the book than anything else. Also, the hair. Seriously. D: Did not get why they had to changed her into a brunette.
I know! Clarisse is a semimajor part of the books! I was annoyed about that too. :/ Like really annoyed me. (The cabins and the Percy being in Hermes's cabin to start off with.) I got seriously distracted when I kept thinking about how cold it would be living in the (movie) cabin.
Also, I think someone mentioned before, WHAT WAS UP WITH PERSEPHONE. SRSLY.
Isn't Percy meant to be like 12?! (Oh god, the Harry Potter movies. D:)
Akiome- I know! That bit annoyed me as well. It's not to be like...skanky women all in your face but a whole hotel fill of games! Also they missed out the part where Annabeth gives her lotus card to the taxi and the taxi man gets all "O_______O! Your..your highness!" I was looking forward to all of the funny little details. D:

HE IS SUPPOSED TO BE TWELVE. I find it hard to think that they made this purposefully to be a stand alone movie--it would TOTALLY kill the fact that it's supposed to be a series. It's totally killed the whole thing . It's like the Vampire's Assistant ALL over again... Also, steel grey. DEF steel grey. NOT bright uncanny blue... Persephone: I KNOW. I mentioned it above... It REALLY irked. me >(( |
