How are you travelling? By Freddie. 29/12/08, 08:35 am |
| I'm considering how to GET to Christchurch. I'll probably just catch a flight there, but if there's anyone else looking to take the ferry and catch a bus/car/taxi there, well, it'd be company. if you are flying, what airline? When? What Seat? What Flavour? |

| I'll probably be flying from Wellington. Haven't booked the tickets yet tho. If you're sightseeing then the ferry/train/bus option is good, but it takes quite a bit longer and surprisingly enough is more expensive to (the ferry costs a bit to travel on, even as a walk on passenger). Ususally if you can get a sub $50 airfare either way it's about the best option. Air NZ Grabaseat has specials but you have to watch it just about religiously. Otherwise Pacific Blue (/Virgin). Pacific Blue is 'generally' cheaper on the whole but Grabaseat does beat them from time to time when they have a special on. Qantus I don't usually check quite as much. |

| Just checked. If i fly down on Friday night and get back on Sunday Night, it's only $89.50 return on Pacific blue.
Generally going fot the cheaper outlook, as im thirteen and paying from the pocket Ill check Qantas, but ANZ costs $98 return... [EDIT: checked Qantas, got nothing. At All...] |

| The flightcentre site is a good place to start aswell since it searches all 3. If it ID's one as being cheapest though it's worth checking their actual website. I've come accross a few cases where the flightcentre sight is a few dollars more expensive. http://www.flightcentre.co.nz/section2.asp |

Re: How are you travelling? By Freddie. 29/12/08, 09:07 am |
| So i checked all three plus flight center, and PB still seems like the cheapest at 89.50 return. Ill just have to be ready to catch buses to and from the airport/geddon/Gramma's place. Or i could rope some family into travelling me... |

| Nah, ill only be down there the weekend... So i guess ill be on Pacific Blue. Do tell me iif you are traveling down on their, Friday night, or travelling back Sunday Night. That way i can get my parents to meet you and be like "Oh hi, so you "Cosplayers" Are normal people." and then my father will take you aside and be like "Can you take care of her on the way down? make sure she doesn't take any drugs..." xD |

| They have an airport in Picton, which is tiny, so there's probably an airport there :/ (Not that Picton airport was very good xD. We had to bus to Blenium? airport because it was too windy xD). |

| Flying~ =D Try STB/STA Travel (I can't remember which is the NZ one hahaha DX) They're usually the cheapest and if you're under 25/student, you can sometimes snag cheaper rates.
Rozi~ let me know when you wanna book so we can try and fly together DX I don't want to be alone haha. |
