Scars By Doughtnut_Bandit. 30/12/08, 12:50 am |
| Does anyone know of any cheap and effective ways of making scars for a cosplay?
Mainly I need a light scar that crosses the nose from the right then angles up to near the forehead in almost an L shape. |

| Cut yourself xD i'd suggest using a scar pen. They're really cheap, but you have to order them from overseas so the shipping is quite pricy. They wash of nicely and leave a realistic scar though. |

| There are these ways http://www.instructables.com/id/SRL8XW3FM2CTNPF/ http://www.instructables.com/id/S49Z16YF44XYTFG/ both of those ones need liquid latex and I think you could leave out all of that blood if you wanted to http://www.instructables.com/id/SVUQXAEF9I2C21S/ this one only needs plain unflavoured bubblegum and things you would have lying around at home like make-up and same as this one http://www.instructables.com/id/SACY0FDFDUEVWKC/ though I don't know if you have rubber cement.... |

| Hmmm, they all seem quite complicated DX Well except the bubblegum one, but it doesn't explain how to do em. No wait, yeah it does XD
Do you think the effect will do for a healed scar, you know, one thats there but the wound isn't new? |

Re: Scars By firecat70. 30/12/08, 01:58 pm |
| PVA + FOUNDATION
Put on the PVA in a line, wait for it to dry, repeat til it is the desired height (if you want to create a slashed look for the scar, rather than just raised, get a toothpick and splice it in the middle of the glue while is is drying) Put the foundation over it to blend into your skin THEN ADD COPIOUS AMOUNTS OF "BLOOD"
It's what I use to make zombie scars, one of my favorite hobbies. I guess you can skip the third step for healed scar?
EDIT: Ohhh, make sure to get child safe PVA. The stuff you can eat! Much better for putting on the skin. And it will probably hurt to take off. I recomend warm water + a soft soap to assist in taking it off. |

...I second this...I had to skip the scar makup for a film assignment I did last year when i couldn't find bubblegum that worked. So yeah, anybody trying that one, Extra and Hubba Bubba FAIL. Both straight out of the pack and chewed. XP |

| ...try Big Red or anything else that comes in a stick of gum? The extra stuff I tried but the squishy stuff, not the pellets. Hurr, gum pellets. |
