Pre-ordered Tickets or Tickets at the Door? By Guest. 10/06/09, 01:39 pm |
| I'm planning to go with a group to Auckgeddon but I'm not sure whether to buy pre-ordered tickets or tickets at the door. I remember seeing a HUGE line last year and I just got tickets at the door so I'm not sure anymore. Help please?

| I preorder. I don't think it matters too much either way, but if you can preorder without hassle then you might as well? Then you don't have to line up for tickets AND to get in. And you avoid the risk of Armageddon being insanely crowded and having to wait in line for hours~ |

| But last year the massive line was for the preordered tickets. The ticket line was really short. |

| Pre-ordered is definitely worth it. unfortunately you usually have to pay service charges, but it saves standing in line for over an hour to get in. :/ |

| I stood in line all of 5 minutes. Got there just before opening. And I was buying. The line was tiny. |

Sometimes it's insanely crowded though D: it's kinda a risk Dx unless there's a genius who can work out the pattern of auckgeddon popularity~ /doesn't make sense. |

| If you pre-buy you usually get in line with cosplayers =D like you meet random people not from the forums. Found a cool naruto guy last year with my friend X3
Oh you can also camera whore in the line, people go past and ask for pictures
So I guess both are good and bad |

Re: Pre-ordered Tickets or Tickets at the Door? By porkbun. 10/06/09, 04:01 pm |
| Pre-order would be preferable I think, then you don't have to worry, cause you'd have them (tickets)
Also as fleyer said, you meet ppl in line, I met a whole grp of ppl, about 6-8 of them, and we talked over 30mins. Its just a great way to meet others who are also as annoyed as you are, about having to wait for so long.
Then there are those who sneak up the line, but I found it as soon as the doors opened, it took less than five mins to get in! (I was standing in the middle of the 2km line... ok Im exagerating(spell right?) but still.)
And the three day pass, I'm not completely sure, but I think it could be possible. Try calling them |

| It's still possible to buy the three day pass if you don't preorder, considering you're just effectively buying the individual tickets for the next two days.
I prefer to pre-book considering I don't usually arrive at Geddon until about 10am, at which point the line is already looooooooong |

| Wellington Armageddon this year - the machines broke down JUST on opening time - so only those who had pre-ordered could go in, those buying at the door had to wait a while (I think my friends were there for a good 40+ mins or so). Preordering at least saves you the trouble if that happens, plus the pre-order line moves fast once it gets going, even if it is longer. :3 |
