What's your working style? By Guest. 24/04/09, 01:47 pm |
| Do you finish one specific item (such as the wig) and then move on to the next item (such as the sleeves)? Or do you prefer to build everything up at the same level and at the same time?
Or none of the above?

| One at a time I guess... I like seeing completed things... Gives me encouragement to keep going ahead? |

| Uh, I work on whatever I feel like at the given time. Or, as circumstances allow. My sewing has reached a place where I can do simple things by myself, but anything complicated I have to get a bit of help on, which does limit when I can work on them. |

| I will do part of one costume then move onto part of another, then i finish quite a few costumes at the same time and i feel it's a real achievement. I also have a habit of breaking machines, my overlocker I swear hates me and I am on my 2nd sewing machine in 6 months, so I often will make garments I can hand sew and then put the rest of the outfit to the back of my brain until my machine is finished (I'm also a crap sewer) |

| I do the stuff that takes me the longest first (the actual clothes, I'm impatient with my machine...I have urges to hammer it ) Wig is second, then anything else such as accessories I obssess over so I leave it for last. |

| I'll usually work on, and finish, one piece at a time (and not necessarily from the same costume). e.g. do coat, then move on to pants. I don't really like leaving pieces half done for too long. Except for wigs. I'll often leave a wig partially done while I do something else, cos wigs can take ages to cut/style and I get bored doing the same thing for ages. |

| I do whatever is available first. For example, I actually wanted to get started on the armour piece, but I don't have the mesh wire or the papier-mache stuff or the moulding.... But I DO have the shoe base, boot material and card... So I'm going to make the boots first. |

| I do the small, easy things first 8D. And then I procrastinate with the harder bits and then make them fast and bad so that I finish in time 8D;;

Re: What's your working style? By Cookie Monster. 26/04/09, 05:45 am |
| I usually try to complete one stage at a time, but it's more like I work one piece until I get bored or sick of it, then I move onto something else. So it ends up that I have bits and pieces everywhere in various stages of complete making a big mess aand taking twice as long to do. x_x
Also sometimes when I work on pieces after coming home from my job I have "Colourful creative discussions" with them when they go wrong. |
