Regency Picnic (Lolis welcome!)

As I canceled the tea party last year (bad timing for getting people in one place at one time!) I am having a picnic next week in the same style!
Addit: As there has been no Loli picnic organised this year you are free to come and join us if you are missing it :) Loli is usually inspired by later styles but it will all fit in with the general theme.

Regency Picnic
Saturday 10th January 2pm onwards
Auckland Domain Winter Gardens.

If you go via the main entrance (with the statues and view over the fields to the museum it is fairly easy to find. The big glasshouses with the courtyard in the middle.

My friends and I are providing much of the food and drink (tea, fruits and sandwiches and grape juice and apple juice etc) and some entertainment (I have a set of croquet mallets and will hunt out a ball and some hoops, Diabolo was popular too apparently) but would like anyone coming to please bring some small nibbles too to make sure they get fed. There is the Museum cafe and probably the Mr Whippy truck as well as a small coffee house in very close proximity.

So the theme is all things Austen and to that end I am making a few dresses for friends and will be doing a workshop this Sunday on easy ways to make them. That will be from 1pm at a private residence so if anyone wants to come please let me now tonight or tomorrow. I will also provide a few links at the end of this for anyone unable to attend the workshop.

The theme is not strict but we would appreciate an effort. A summer dress will be fine for girls and shirts and trousers for guys. To help get a feel for the style here are a few links:

Due to short notice and lack of time/money/effort I wont be making any fancy dresses.

I may come, that is if you don't mind that I won't be wearing aforementioned attire.

But I still wont have money to buy material to make a dress.

Absolutely :) And no worries if it is too short notice I'm more than happy to do another one later. We are going to try for a regency ball early this year as two friends are heading for their OE's very soon and they would really like to go to one :)

I will PM the details this afternoon if you are ok to come tomorrow. But like I said, no stress if it is too soon, there will be another one. This was put together quickly with my friends so that we could indulge in the silliness and then thought it might be nice if it was opened for others to partake of the socialising and food if not the costumed silliness :)

Well we got some work done today :) Though it was far more laid back and relaxed than I was expecting so I sort of might have lazed around a bit then did a bit of a flurry of ironing and seaming...

We got through the entire 6 episodes of Pride and Prejudice as well as Northanger Abbey.

I just had an idea~
Seeing as I will be at Duckehs house on the thursday/friday, I could some how beg her to let me stay for another night, and then we could come to the picnic~!

And I am sure I can dig something out of the closet that goes along the loli side of things~
