O_O Joe's Emporium!

I feel the need to share this wonderful new information. This will most likely be relevant to Howick/Pakuranga, maybe even Botany cosplayers.

THERE IS NOW AN EMPORIUM IN HOWICK. O_O

I haven't been there yet - this is just what mum told me, but it's where the Salvation Army op shop used to be in the Rices Mall (Salvation Army shop is now where Arthur Toye was). So it's like... everything arts and craft.

I can't wait to take a look-see.

What is it with people liking the word 'Emporium'?

There's someone ma-rather's Emporium in Porirua that sells wigs apparently. I need to remember to go there this weekend :/

Emporium = craft store. It's not so much a like of the word, as a way of ensuring potential customers can instantly identify the kind of shop it is.

There's one near spotlight called arthur's emporium which sells *everything* from fabric, to scrapbooking stuff, to (sugar honey iced tea) wigs (and wig heads!), to fishing gear, to DIY stuff. It's actualy *amazing*. *_* I hope this one is like that one...

Im so jealous! I love emporiums but there aren't any particularly close to where I live >.<

They're kinda like a specialised version of the warehouse except 50 billion times better ^.^

It's down the Howick main street umm... It's like, where Tom Kroons music shop is - near where food town used to be.

I went today! And it was amazing! Lots of craft stuff and ribbons and felt by the metre, some fabrics though not much, BUT! the store is only half open - the second half of the store, when it opens, will be full of fabrics! <3

There was also lots of random stuff like kids birthday party supplies and $2 shop type stuff, and a *fishing* section, lol. Apparently it's there to entertain the husbands/boyfriends who get dragged along by their wives/girlfriends, hahah. But they have like, full blown ANCHORS and everything. o_o

I know I will. Oh man! So excited! I hope they sell plush fabrics, then I'll be able to do plushie commissions after all! <3 I really wanna do commissions, but the only thing stopping me is the lack of close-by shop to buy the right kind of fabric from. But now... *squees loudly*

Not yet, though they do sell wig heads for $11 each, so they might start selling wigs. o_O

Emporiums never carry nice wigs though, it's a shame because they have everything else under the sun for cosplay! Haha.

Whoooooooo! I read that a new shop was opening where the old Arthur Toye's shop was in the newspaper before I came to Taiwan though.
I completely forgot about it until I saw this thread!

Wow! Do they also sell prop materials there? I must go sometime! Very Happy

Let's all go there and suggest some better quality wigs as demand. If all cosplayers in the area does that, they'll be bound to start selling good wigs soon, once they see the demand!

or better yet, where i would be able to find a lot of fake blood.. haha somewhere around the howick botany area would be nice..
going to town to do up my mate as a zombie for a little movie project
