Used real Martial Arts for an act?

Do you guys use real martial arts? or just try to look cool :p

Im watching a buncha vids of sword play fights and the cloud v kadaj fight is cool but they look like they focus to much on how they look.

Do you guys do acts like that or just wanna dress up and diologue act? naruto

when i am challenged to a duel by a willing opponent i am more than happy to accept even if it is infrount of a crowd if that answers your question

yes and no i use what ever martial art is appropriate to the situation as obviously i am not going to use kendo on some little kid disarm him and smack him in the head however i may do some ninjitsu to take his weapon and tease him with it

Obviously the whole point of real martial arts moves is to truly defend/attack & that's inappropriate when you're play fighting?

I believe the fight in question was by all means impromptu~
O-o

For skits, some people may script && play with actual techniques they know?

But cosplayers while in costume sometimes have to be very careful, as it may break easily...

the great thing about ninjitsu is that it has no structure it is up to you to invent the katas and combos with the baisic techniques taught

Yeah that tends to happen with Traiditional arts.

Hmm i should've made what i said more clear but im to fired up to keep on..track?

Seeing actual martial artist in a skit or a play fight would be alot better for the characters you cosplay as.
But i forgot about the stumes falling apart =/.

I'd love to do something martial artsy, but I stopped years ago DX
I want to do a martial arts cosplay sometime! I can pose like I'm good at it, dancing and martial arts actually cross over in certain moves and poses lol.

I want to incorporate my current skills into cosplay though, like Princess Tutu for ballet and... someone for singing XD
