Can a wig be split into high pinktails? Help!

I can't say who I'm cosplaying as because it's a seeeeecret~
But I need to pretty much split a wig in two each side spiking out the side of my head. Not pinktails, but the explanation couldn't fit in the title ^_^
I'll be able to do this with some hairspray or glue (hopefully) but can it be done without the netting being seen in the split?
I've never split a wig before, so I'm not sure, please help? Razz

How to explain.
You leave a bulk of hair at the front, seperate from everything && kind of twist it around the back so it covers the netting & goes around the pigtail?
I'm not sure... Hard to say from your description. >.<'

What Jen did is she left a bit of hair at the top of the back of the wig that didn't get pulled into pigtails, and that covered the wefts (it hung over the wefts to hide them - I hope that makes sense), which isn't as good looking as that tutorial, but also not as difficult.
