Backpackers group: NEW PLACE INFO IN FIRST POST

The idea with the female only dorms is that girls who are paranoid about being felt up in the sleep or just don't feel comfortable around guys they don't know can feel safe.

My relatives live in Kapiti, and it takes 45 minutes to drive there.

JVCA: LOL, I know that, but it's still fun to rant about it from time to time. Razz

Fortunately we didn't really run into any problems in Auck with our booking since we knew everyone to an extent from the boards. But I can totally understand if it was a girl travelling by herself and not particularly looking forward to being put into a dorm full of guys she doesn't know, let alone trust.

kagerouhi: From my interpretation of their site they do have standard mixed dorms in addition to female only dorms, however if some of the girls aren't comfortable with guys sleeping in the same room (for whatever reason), you should be able to split the groups pretty easily so they can stay in a room with just girls if you use the smaller rooms. If Kelchups group is 7 they'd just about take an 8 bed share themselves. Plus yeah, I wouldn't try to limit it to just girls for the booking, but possibly have a girls only room for anyone thats not comfortable, but thats just my opinion. I know I tend to interject my opinion from time to time so if i'm causing any problems doing that just let me know and I'll leave it be.

As for myself I'm still undecided. Whilst it would be cool to stay with the cosplayers again I have a perfectly good house ~30 minutes away, so odds are unless i change my mind again i'll probably just stay at home, but will most definitely stalk/hang around with everyone in the dorms. hehe. :)

Edit: OK, completely reworded since my brains apparently shutting down and got stuck on 20 beds max for some reason.

I will find some place in central (probably a backpackers) so if any one is interested on sharing a room then please tell me so i can make a booking

Cool thing is is that mum doesn't care what time I get home xD. She picks me up and stuff and she'd text me if it gets late, but she won't force me to go home xD.

Although yeah, still bummed about Rallions party considering I turned up late-ish (7pm?), tried ringing the doorbell (which apparently doesn't work!!) couldn't hear any noise from inside, and figured it was over and everyone had gone out so went home again.! Gah!. OH, well.

I'd prefer female only, not because of anyone here, but because of walking in/out etc and there being random guys around. Ahaha ^^;

I'm probably not staying in wellington, but if anyones staying there and wants to meet, i'd appreciate being able to turn up at a back packers place in the mornind and meet someone i know a little bit about.

i still need to find a backpackers- i was thinking about staying with my sister in wellington but (as jp knows) i got easily lost last time and it's a tram ride + 40 minutes walk to get to her place. i think she moved now but... i don't want to risk walking that far in cosplay & i'd be sorta keen for something closer to the con...

walking back to her home in ff1's fighter costume was bad enough.

do people have to honk their car horn if they see someone in costume?
