For the xbox 360 version (which isn't getting a japanese release) the date is TBA 2009.
In fact I just checked the japanese release date and its not even that specific. It just says TBA

You guys hear about the new Soul Eater fighting game for the psp?

That would be epic fail if they did. I mean part of the PSP and DS's beauty is that they are region-free. Would kinda suck if they started doing that.

I'm pretty sure you can't add region protection to systems that it didn't have originally. Especially the ds as theres nothing to save the update to...
Then again UMD movies for the psp are region protected apparently, so the games might not be that hard to region protect...

Also if you have custom firmware on the PSP there is an actual option to turn region protection on or off....... god knows why you'd switch it on.
