Metal props By Hellagoddess. 17/07/08, 02:20 am |
| Does anyone know if there is any kind of ban/rule against metal props for DO? I know they probably wouldn't allow live blades or anything dangerous like that...but I've got two props for my costume and one of them has a big chuck of scary metal on it and I'm trying to decide which one to bring - just thought I'd ask before I turned up with it and wasn't allowed in! |

| AFAIK if you're not in the competition itself they're fine, if you're in the competition there have historically been rules against props that could hurt someone, ie: exposed metal/wood edges etc. neimhaille or angelsnz shoudl be able to clarify it if you have photos you can post. |

| We aren't involved with DO :)
That said I would contact the organisers and possibly the site managers to see what their rules are. Also Auckland CBD might have some by laws about carrying weapons in public- so be careful in carrying props to and from the site. |

| LOL, oops, blame me for not reading the thread it was posted in. hehe, oh, well.
Yeah, i did toy with mentioning the in public bit, but with the cops these days it's pretty hard to tell, they'll either be completely oblivious to it, or try to do you for carrying a weapon, then if you hide it in a bag it becomes a concealed weapon! um, yeah, back onto the subject, 'oops', blame me for that, I have no idea whatever on the DO side of things, but it wouldn't hurt to err on the side of caution if noone can clarify it. |

| Haha thanks for the help guys :) It's kinda been decided for me anyway as the metal prop was broken when I got home - aren't siblings wonderful? She was playing 'ninja' on the back lawn and hit a tree with it My poor metal working skills don't hold up to well against the force of nature! |
