Pokemon Diamond/Pearl/Platinum

Anyone else played/playing this game and ABSOLUTELY LOVING IT?!

I'm about to go to face the Elite Four... I need to get the National Pokedex and Rotom in time to participate in the event for the special key for Rotom's different forms.

I kinda need help sorting out a team.

At the moment my team is kinda lame... although my Graveler pwned Volkner >D

My Team (Yeah, I know I need to train):

EMPOLEON [Lv. 49]
STARAPTOR [Lv. 38] (Will probably use to take on Aaron of Elite Four)
LUXRAY [Lv. 40]
GRAVELER [Lv. 35]

Also:

I caught a Marill in the great marsh at lvl. 25, put it in the daycare for the sake of it and then took it out at lvl. 28 when I realised that it evolved at lvl. 18.
How can I evolve it? << Do I need to lvl it up in battle for the evolution to happen?

My in-game team (I just beat Volkner)

Gengar (Pinky) LV. 51 {Shadow Ball, Tbolt, Focus Blast, Nasty Plot}
Infernape LV. 49 {Flamethrower, Close Combat, Grass Knot, Nasty Plot}
Venusaur (Sega) LV. 52 {Energy Ball, Sludge Bomb, Leech Seed, Sleep Powder}
Garchomp (WindowsXP) LV. 50 {Dragon Claw, EQ, Stealth Rock, Crunch}

I'm getting a Golduck to use Ice Beam and Surf to cover Cynthias Garchomp and Flints pokemon. Other slot may go to Azelf.

Platinum is really fun, if you've already played Diamond you might not want to play it but any diehard pokemon fan should definately check this out (Especially the Battle Frontier!)

Ah sweet, so Marill evolved. (Yeah I just needed to level it up.)

So now I have a Marill on my team~

EMPOLEON [Lv. 50] Water to take on Flint and Bertha of the Elite Four.
LUXRAY [Lv. 42] - Electric and Dark moves to take on Cynthia's Milotic and Lucian of the Elite Four
STARAPTOR [Lv. 38] - Flying to take on Aaron and Bertha of the Elite Four
GRAVELER [Lv. 35] - Ground/Rock to take on Flint of the Elite Four
AZUMARILL [Lv. 34] - Water and Ice moves to take on Flint and Aaron of the Elite Four and Cynthia's Garchomp

I need something to take on Lucian and other pokemon of Cynthia...

AND WTFBOOOOOOOOOM. Okay, Volkner was a BIT silly having an Octillery and an Ambipom(Ambipom never attacked me... ._.) but Flint has five pokemon, TWO of which are Fire type. ._. What. The. Hell.

Beat the elite four and my empoleons now somewhere in the 90's.
I have diamond so good for any trades?

Im currently seeing how full i can get my pokedex but im having trouble getting the ones you need to trade holding items for them to evolve!

After I catch Mespirit and Uzie the only way I can finish my Sinnoh PokeDex (just seeing rather than catching) is by defeating the Elite Four.

I really want to participate in the Rotom event. Basically, if you've caught Rotom you can participate in the event to get the special key to a room that you can use to change Rotom's form.

April 21st is when it starts.

To get Rotom you need to have the National PokeDex in Diamond and Pearl. D8

It sucks.

But yeah, on the 21st of April if you follow the instructions here you can get the secret key to change Rotom's form.

Click on the More Information About the Secret Key to find out how to get it.

I assume that we can participate in the event using wifi. It would be silly if we couldn't. ._.

Haven't played this game much after defeating the Elite Four (like always). All I do is catch the odd pokemon, to fill up my National Dex, every now and then. Trading via GTS is near impossible, what with everybody and their insane trades.

I only use Infernape, Gyarados, and Luxray mainly. Drifblim and Bibarel as HM slaves, and Scyther to catch pokemon with.

Strategy : Infernape is a great sweeper, perfect to take out some of Aarons Pokemon and many more. Thinking of replacing Leftovers with Life Orb.

Weaknesses : Infernape will get OWNED by Lucian, so he probably wont be coming out any time during that fight...

Strategy : Oh boy, my favourite Pokemon! This monster of a pokemon can easily survive many hits (Proven by surviving Giratina for MANY turns) Starting off with a SP then going into a LS he will sap health while using his nice base SpA with Energy Ball and Sludge Bomb.

Weaknesses : Venusaur will fall victim to some enemies in the E4, but he can easily take hits, definately the strongest in the team.

Strategy : Another one of my favourites, Gengar or as I call him 'Pinky' is a vital part to the team, being the strongest Special Sweeper there is. Starting off with a Nasty Plot hoping the enemy won't 1HKO him, Pinky boosts his SpA high enough to bring it above 210 which lets him 1HKO anything. Tbolt is nice too, for taking out those pokemon who are weak to electric.

Weaknesses : LUCIAN LUCIAN LUCIAN... while Pinky does x2 damage to them.. a Psychic attack will bring Pinky down due to his low HP stat. I have another Pokemon for this though, if Pinky cant out-run Lucians Pokemon.

Garchomp@Leftovers LV. 57
Role : Sweeper
252Atk/252Spe/4Hp
Sand Veil
-Earthquake
-Swords Dance
-Dragon Claw
-Stealth Rock (Removing for Outrage)

Strategy : My Chomp has insane attack and speed, letting it outrun most enemies and although its a lower level than Cynthias Chomp I should be able to DC it out. Starting with a SD and getting STAB from EQ and DC he SHOULD be able to 1HKO enemies.

Weaknesses : Well... you could say that he has lots of weaknesses. Although these dont really matter considering his MONSTEROUS SPEED!!!

Role : Staller/Sweeper

-Night Slash
-Swords Dance
-Earthquake

Strategy : Drapion is NEEDED for Lucian, taking 0 damage from psychic attacks is a must have if I want to survive the power house of the Elite Four. His strategy is to SD up then Night Slash all the piggies back home!

Weaknesses : Hmm... Im only using him for Lucian, so he doesnt really have any weaknesses to say the truth!

-Psychic

Strategy : You may notice the Waterfall in Starmies moveset, this is cause I dont want to use an HM slave for water moves when I already could teach them to Starmie... Anyway, on with the strategy. Starmie is going to be a star player against Bertha with all her ground type Pokemon. Surf and Waterfall work magics on those, thats all to really say...

Weaknesses : Again, im not using Starmie for anything else except for its use of Psychic..

I just need to see two more Pokemon on my Shinnou dex before I get the National Dex. I'm missing the three sprite thingies whatever they're called at the lakes. ;w;
