Good Manga =/= CRAP ANIME

This is just a vent on the Angel Sanctuary anime. because it SUCKS SO BAD HOLY COW HOW DID THEY DO THAT? SERIOUSLY. I love the manga so much - will be one of my favourites for ever and ever, and when i first figured out there was an anime I just about wet myself in excitement. So, I watched it (bought it, even!!) and my eyes, THEY DID BLEED. IN MY MIND, ANYWAY. IT WAS HORRIBLE. STABBY STAB STAB DIE.

Seriousl - about the only decent part was the art style - it remained relatively true to Kaori Yuki's style, which I thought was great. But they absolutely murdered the plot, and granted the dialogue wasn't *fantastic* until the second story arc...but dude. No need to MAKE IT WORSE. They only made three episodes, thank God, but they managed to pack the entire first story arc into them - CONDENSED MUCH? URGH.

...So yeah, I've been meaning to get that off my chest to people who feel my pain for some time now XD Ever had this happen with one of your faves?

Ah, I remember the Angel Sanctuary anime..... yeah that was not handled very well at all.

I love the manga though. But to answer your question. I suppose Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro had a couple of issues with me, although I had the benefits of seeing the manga after the anime, and having already liked the anime, I liked the manga so much more. Similar things occurred with Love Hina.

On the flipside of things. RahXephon had an awesome anime but the manga decided to rewrite the story and made it absolute crap, turning a perfectly good 26 episode psychological mecha to a 3 volume mecha manga with fanservice and poorly written love story that made very little sense in the end.

The Tsubasa anime is epic fail. The OVAs are good. But the rest of it needs to be erased >_> Why must they mess with the plot so? D8

I agree. Crap manga was crap. We were talking about it today actually.
Syill: "That manga with fanservice?"
Me: "... The anime had /NO/ fanservice!! D;<"

(Angry because the manga had it, not because the anime didn't have it xDDD).

I have the anime. It's okay (from someone who hasn't read the manga). It was a bit strange, and short. Oh, but a plus is that it's signed by Crispin Freeman ;3

I agree. The plot was a bit different and the art style was completely different. Motoko, Naru, and Mutsumi all looked the same. And a bit fat in the face compared to their manga counterparts.

SO DAMN TRUE. D: why must the second season be all fillers!?

Though I must admit that the Kurozilla episode was so damn epic. They did a good thing there. :)

Film will never be as good as the book I guess. ._.

With a few exceptions, of course: personally, I found the xxxholic anime better than the manga, specially the second season of that, but that's just my opinion. ^^; Usually it is, as you say, the other way round.

I hate the xxxHolic anime. I really don't like the style for it. The manga is okay, but I don't find that too interesting either.

Escaflowne had a really cool anime, but a crap manga xD.

i liked the la corda d'oro anime better than the manga because i prefer the style and you get to actually hear the music- but then again, i haven't finished reading it yet so THAT COULD CHANGE.

i also preferred the live action of hana-kimi to the manga... though, the amatsuki anime wasn't anywhere near as good as the manga was and lkasjdflksd
it depends on a lot of things!

GTO and Kenshin both had the issues of the anime deviating from the manga at the end of the series, GTO missing out the final half of the story and giving it a very disappointing end that didn't really fit with the rest of the series, while Kenshin gave us a full season of filler that was so bad the final arc got canned due to a decrease in ratings.

Of course, Kenshin had a chance to redeem itself when they made Trust, Betrayal and Reflections.

Trust and Betrayal I loved, it pretty much perfectly matched the manga's story while Reflections......... Well I wish I hadn't wasted my time watching it TWICE, especially after reading the arc it was supposedly based off. So very bad.

GTO on the other hand, While disappointing the ending aspect in terms of both Live Action and Anime, it was still very enjoyable, but still maintains the ranking of Manga > Live Action > Anime

TSUBASA CHRONICLE ANIME = FAILFAILFAILFAIL DIEDIEDIE.

I enjoy both the manga and the anime of xxxHolic though -- perhaps because it wasn't completely butchered in the transition. <___<;;;

THE KUROZILLA EPISODE IS WIN

It's the best episode in the whole thing.

The only good bit about Tsubasa anime is their voices. *drool* Kuro-chan's laugh.... *has that bit on MP3 player* xD

Oh, but the dubbed voices are FAIL.

Though the xxxholic anime is pretty cool~ I've only watched about 4 or so episodes of the second season though (& the first season >_>) spider grudge arc ftw!

Though what's even more fail than the Tsubasa anime is the Tsubasa movie o_0 The best bit in that film is when Fai says 'Kuro-sama looks so handsome with the water running done him' >_> Or something like that xD

LMAO! That's the only reason I even watched the movie. I cracked up so much. XDD Actually, I don't even think I watched the whole movie - I just watched up to that part and was satisfied. *snort* The animation was quite impressive though, compared to the anime at least.

OHHH~ "KuROWginay" is like, my favourite running joke between my friends who watch Tsubasa and I -- it's hillarious!

Eick. Ouran Host Club anime was a major disappointment. I prefer the manga by far..and I know they can't put everything in the anime but it's lacking some of the really good moments.

Also I think the La Corda d Oro anime was better than expected but again, I like the manga. I kept getting distracted by their weirdly coloured hair in the anime sigh

I reaaaally like the Loveless manga but the anime really disappointed me, I don't think if I had read the manga it would have made much sense to me at all.
Apart from this I don't really have much of an opinion as unless it was awesome or I am going to cosplay from it I either read or watch, not both.

plus they mess up the characters they cant draw fai !!!! compleat fail wait till the end of the seris before you do the anime and stick too the plot!!!!
oh! and kuroganes is to skinny and they say his name wrong " it's kur RO GA NAY" no no no no no!

Yea, Fai loks pretty weird in the anime. Again the OVAs are good. And the first OAD is awesome *noms on* But the rest is pretty fail. Except the voices. And the complete 'Mokona draws the world' crack episode. Only because that episode was SO insanely crack xDD I think 'A Date with the Magician' was the on that caused the most death for me T_T

I only saw one or two of the OVA's - what are they up to now? @.@
I think the animation is fairly poor in the anime...Half the time their faces, especially Fay and Kurogane's are all ...disproportionate and stupid-looking. xD

Thought that the Manga was great, but the anime was really poor and ruined alot of things..
