Pink Party- Breast Cancer Awareness
By neimhaille. 02/10/08, 01:30 pm |
| Like pink? Like tea? The idea of helping support those who support others? Then keep Sunday 12th October free as I am hosting a Pink Tea Party for the Breast Cancer foundation. Well part hosting. I had the idea and am borrowing a friend's house to host it;)
http://www.breastcancer.org.nz/TimTamPinkParties.htm This is what I'm talking about if I have lost you already.
This party will make a difference, I have already had people cheering us on from the other side of the globe. It will also be a chance for some silly fun! Yes guys- you too are invited and there are many shades of pink, I'm sure you can find one that suits. And a way to wear it.
I am supplying some food and decorations but we will need to spread the load so when you let me know you are interested please also let me know if you can provide food or drink. We will need some savories and cold drinks as well as the more easily thought of sweets.
I have some of the Tim Tams and I also have some pink gluten free bread and some pink gluten free neenish tarts to make. I can also prove some Pink Champagne (pink lemonade). Clever ideas in the way of pink cheese will not go amiss!
Address will be supplied to those who are definitely coming, it is centre-south in Auckland and quite close to a major bus depot and on a bus route to the city. There is a stop right outside. As it is not my home you can imagine I'm loathe to post it publicly ;)
This is held on the day and time we normally have for or weekly Sewing Sunday so if you want to bring any costume project please feel free. There may be some covert knitting and hand sewing in the background.
This is for charity so there will be a bucket for donations. Bring what you can. This will help BC survivers as well as those as yet undiagnosed. It could happen to any of us. |

| We only want as much of a donation as you can afford :) Gold coin is fine :) There is no charge to attend but if anyone is able to provide some food or anything to help feed the multitude that would be great :)
We are thinking of possibly having some silent auctions for goods I'm just not sure at this stage what that would be. I have a lot of fabric I'm happy to just get rid of but some I'd like to sell for myself as well ;) So I may have some random laces and fabric out.
As for pink cheese there is the old standby of mixing cream cheese with say beetroot. But I was hoping for somehting liek a marinated medium cheese. |
