Locations for a Victorian, gothic or formal photoshoot?

I'm not native to Wellington so I have no clue on locations for a photoshoot. (Well actually several photoshoots).

Any ideas that would suit Black Butler, Ouran, Vampire Knight or Alice in Wonderland?

And in particular, any formal gardens, a place with a chessboard floor (b/w tiles), or beautiful Victorian interior architecture?
