How to wear my wings By Scurry. 18/08/13, 01:06 pm |
| Hey everyone. I'm planning and in the middle of making a cosplay for auckland armageddon but have hit a problem in how to make a part of it work. the cosplay I'm working on is natsuki's avatar from summer wars http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7169/6639270251_9ab49219e3_o.jpg I am having trouble on how to attach the wings to the costume (i am not making them the size in the picture lol) as i dont want to have strapping holding them on top of the kimono
so i thought i would put a post up here for if anyone has some suggestions
thanks :) |

| I haven't personally made wings but here's a couple of ideas?

If you make the wings onto something they can slot into, then have small slits somewhere in the back of the costume? It the basis of how these all work. |

| For tutorials I've read, large wings need to have proper support to stay up properly, like backpack straps sturdy. If you are planning to make your wings half the size of the ones in the ref pic, I'd suggest cutting holes in the kimono for the wings to come through and wear shoulder straps under the kimono. |
