undoing ponytail in a wig?

i'm trying to organize my soifon cosplay -stupidity of doing it within a month but, meh, why not- and I found a wig I could probably use, it' a good high quality one, but it's prestyled in a ponytail, i'm planning to cut the wig to make it shorter anyways,
so I was wondering, do you think it'll work?

If it's head resistant you could try and straighten it on kind of a low setting. I haven't actually tried this but theoretically I suppose it should work ;D

I would really reccommend just finding a wig that's already down. Wigs tied into ponytails are usually sewn differently and will not sit right when let down, the back wefts are sewn the opposite way so they sit up. I got a wig like this and was completely unable to turn it into a short wig :c

I really don't think that wig would work being taken out of its ponytail. As Casey said, the wefts have been sewn in at different angles to make the wig go into the ponytail, so its not going to fall how you'd want it when you take it out.

You'd be better off just getting something like this and cutting it short if you can't find a black bob/whatever her hair is on tradme

I think there are quite a few people on trademe that sell asian fashion wigs? They are quite nice quality for the price, maybe you could look into some of those? I'd search for you but my net is capped sob. 56kb/s not enough!
