Bling Princesses By eveychu. 08/11/13, 03:41 pm |
| Hey girls! So as you probably all know by now, I am super excited to be a part of this group and can not wait to start it :) I was just researching my costume when I thought, hey why not check out the actual face-character costumes from Disneyland/world? So I did and it was great to see how they had interrupted the new bling dresses into actual real-life costumes. I highly suggest you take a look if you get stuck. I took the liberty of finding some for you guys plus it's also a great way to get some much needed back shots. (Also please note, they haven't updated Pocahontas or Mulan as far as I'm aware but I included their old costumes for fun)

| Omg Kealy! You're amazing, thanks so much for getting all those photos. I was thinking, should we try use similar fabrics and techniques to match? |

I know I'll be making mine more green than theirs, But other than that I think I'll follow there design quite closely. |

| I've already bought my pattern and the gold glitter paint to use for the design on the skirt! So excited!!! Also I'd love to be able to get photos of us all for my niece. She's obsessed with the disney princesses. |

Um, I'll probably just glitter spray mine unless someone has a better cheaper option? |

| Just googling techniques, we could add fine loose glitter with decoupage medium meant for fabric? I've glitter sprayed a dress before and it didn't turn out very noticable...but that could have just been that brand. Might do some trials on scrap fabric |

| If anyone wants to match fabric with mine, I'm using a dark gold satin overlayed with pale yellow chiffon for Belle.
It would be awesome to make our sparkles match! I saw Wicked the other day and man the Good Witch's dresses we soooo sparkly but I could quite work out how they'd done it.
@Tails I havnt done any research yet, but loose glitter sounds like a much less tedious option than my idea of sewing/gluing individual rhinestones. I imagine everything the dress touches would get glittery though |

| I was thinking about using one of these, by the looks of it they are super pigmented. Plus it says it can be used on clothing http://www.trademe.co.nz/sports/equestrian/care-grooming/oils-creams-gels/auction-660087172.htm |

| @Soph- it said you can seal it with the decoupage medium too @Kealy- that looks really good! Pretty cheap too. Ah so many choices *_* |

| Ooo I like the idea of the spray. It sounds easier to use than brushing on the gel for meters and meters of fabric.
Will it stay on for long? I imagine its made to wash off easily.
EDIT: I just looked it up. It can stick for years, but can easily be washed off with water. |

| Well it says for material you actually need to soak it for 10mins before it can be removed. But glitter is the herpes of craft supplies I think we should be all right |
