Lost

This is a poem I wrote quite a while ago for a regional competition, and I got runner up ^^
Now that I read it again, i find the end kinda tacky, but oh well.

Lost

Like a teapot in a rainforest,
Or a computer in a tree,
Things are left in places,
They aren’t meant to be.
A favorite old bear,
Fallen far beneath the bed,
A forgetful runner’s drink bottle,
Left on a statues head,
An orphaned child sleeping,
Abandoned on the stairs,
To be woken in the morning,
By someone unawares.
The worlds a big lost and found,
So nothings truly lost,
You can always get it back,
If you’ll pay the cost.

An old letter in your side pocket,
A valentine, laid on the ground
Sometimes a pleasant surprise
Lies in the things that we have found.
Within the photo of a smile
Or a favourite song from years ago,
The spring of memory is reclaimed,
When melts the winter snow...

Ah, I give up for now!
I never had enough patience for poetry!
