[Pura's Sketchbook] Sewing like the wind

WHAT AM I EVEN SEWING I DON'T EVEN KNOW. No I lie.

I'll start with non-cosplay things (: Doop-de-do

Spoiler:

This is an outfit I've been sewing for a fashion show (: I need to sew all the petals on to the actual skirt, make the top out of real fabric (although mockup isn't pictured because I only just finished it) and the jacket needs to be finished too. TOO MUCH TO DO. ONLY A WEEK LEFT.

And for actual cosplays I've been making Mrs Toad from Thumbelina and been making a steampunk outfit! The steampunk outfit needs to be finished within a week too! ): And finish my Shiemi cosplay which I start a few months back. Photoshoots! Yay.

I'll probably turn my first post into a collage of my self-made cosplays as I go on. Just so people can click here and see some of my work without needing to scroll through (:

I'm hoping to start a few of the cosplays I've been wanting to do for ages and just casually work on them and enter them in the Armageddon comp as I finish them (:

I JUST NEED TO LEARN HOW TO DANCE LIKE HER (I won't) I've ordered my wig and shoes for her so hopefully I'll get them soon Razz And the dress is really basic so I'll deff be able to finish it in time, I just have no time right now to finish it, all I need to do is attach the skirt to the bodice and put the white dots on it Razz

And thanks Razz I'll post a picture of the entire finished outfit in like a week |D. The show's on the 5th of October ;w;

So I've been neglecting this, haha.

I've been sewing a lot of normal clothing recently and not much costume stuff, but I've got some prop/not-quite-sewing stuff done for my latest costume (:

Costume: Miyoubi from Alichino

So far I started making the black and white panels by her neck/chest area (also on sword and shoes), which I have decided to bead because I am crazy.

[Pura's Sketchbook] Sewing like the wind Wbuxej_zpsb56e8129

And I've started the awkward shaped sword, which looks so derpy, lol. It's so far made with foam board and expanding foam.

[Pura's Sketchbook] Sewing like the wind 4yuox_zpsa8638584

And I've also started the severed head in a cage. I just bought a foam wig head and paper mached over it. I'm contemplating covering it in plaster bandages too because I'm going to make a clay face to go over it, and the clay might stick better to an uneven surface Razz I've also ordered a really nice wig for it, so hopefully I can avoid ruining it, lol.

[Pura's Sketchbook] Sewing like the wind 5gvhwv_zpsa117a07a

Not creepy at all Razz

I've also made a start on her white leggings, which I'm going to hand sew sequin ribbon onto it for the vague design thing you can see when zoomed up, lol.

I'm not sure when I'm going to enter her for the comp, I was originally thinking Dunedin geddon or CHCHgeddon, but that's not really enough time for my liking, lol. I don't want to rush it, and transporting that many props (sword, cage and wings) would be a nightmare.

If anyone has any tips for anything, that would be awesome Very Happy. Specially that severed head in a cage thing, lol.

Ahhh it's been a while since I posted in here ... I haven't had much time to actually make stuff, but I've been working on Princess Peach pretty much one day a week, haha! Only day I have free Razz

Entering her for Wellington Armageddon comp with Syill as my Princess Daisy Very Happy

Princess Peach!

[Pura's Sketchbook] Sewing like the wind Peach%28Clear%29

So far I've started the pattern work for the bodice and the pattern work for the skirt and made mock ups of both (: The bodice is a work in progress, the front panel has yet to be gathered horizontally, haha. I just wanted to make sure that the vertical gathers worked first Razz

I've also made the hoop skirt (another one) and the underskirt~
