[CHCH] Christchurch Cosplay Christmas Party 15th-16th Dec

Okay, so I was thinking of doing a big event one day, so why not in December = Cosplay Christmas Party?!

BUT WHERE?!
Some of the old CCC members may remember we stayed overnight in a scout hall? If you are new, it was fun times! Some of the Southern cosplayers came up, so did JP (well he came down!) (BTW, we love you guys wanna come again?!), we did overnight games, anime, dancing and whatnot. The hall is quite big, has an upstairs area with rooms, a kitchen/bathroom, and the school is opposite with basketball courts and a playground.
~~I might be able to see if we can use it again, and possibly (if people are keen) do another overnight event.~~
We are allowed to use the Scout Hall for an overnight event!
The catch, we donate money to the Scouts for the use of the hall (its only fair, especially if its overnight) so there will be a small fee but the more people attending the less the fee.

WHEN?!
December dudes, that’s all I know… TBC.
I’m assuming people will want it to be a Saturday-Sunday event, and earlier in December before real Christmas yah?
Saturday 15th- Sunday 16th December
Time 6pm!

SO WHAT WILL WE DO?
Cosplay + Christmas + Party… need I say more? Oh, Ok.
Competitions (and yes prizes: from lollies, anime keyrings, toys and DVD’s)
Games (like physical not video hahah, oooh spot light anyone?!)
Pass the Parcel (hey its Christmas)
1 “Modern” T.V setup – anime/movie/video gaming
1 “Retro” T.V setup – old cartoons/games lol sega anyone? ;D (I have 1 T.V, does someone have another?)
Music – anime dance lessons and randomness y/y
Food – snacks (overnight = more food tba)
Green-Screen Photos (possibly if I can get all the equipment!)
Cosplay Chess *eyes Mandie*
Battleships
Murder Mystery (if someone is keen on organizing one?)
Skits/Movie Video
Dance Video
and some other events shhhhitsasecret,yesitsasecret,Iknow,coolaye?!
I might go so far as to get a real Christmas tree too ahah.
Disclaimer: I cannot promise we will do everything in this list!

OH YEAH THAT’S PRETTY COOL, BUT WHAT ABOUT THIS FEE?
This entirely depends on two things:
How many people are coming - The more the ~~merrier~~ cheaper.
How long we are there for - 1 day or overnight… if its overnight then we need money for food too
So how much roughly? All I can say at this stage is it won’t be a $100, or $50, or $20… most likely less than $10 (unless you’re getting pizza etc)
---> Edit: At the moment its $5 each, if we get more people it'll be even cheaper!

WAIT WHAT ABOUT FOOD?
Have dinner before coming, and bring your some snacks/drinks and/or breakfast to share.
also perhaps bring some extra moolah and we’ll do a cosplay supermarket trip like we did last time - as Countdown is quite close.

~~HOW DO WE MAKE THIS HAPPEN?!~~ IT'S HAPPENING.
But still, 3 Things:
1) Promise to obey the rules: No alcohol/drugs/etc, be nice, have fun. <3
2) Bring moneys (as explained)
3) Tell people to tell me you're keen
In this thread, tell me "yes I am keen", and "yes I want to do a day" or stay "overnight"
If you have friends that aren’t on CNZ (or don’t visit often), ask them and then come here and say “I’m keen, and so are 4 others etc.”
I miss our big events, which is why I’m keen to make a big one. However because it involves lots of organizing, I am only going to organize this if I have more then 15+ people…
Even though its 2 months away, I need to know ASAP, so I can start making arrangements and we can get a date that suits everyone.

IF I have enough numbers, I’ll talk to the Scouts and see if we can use the hall (either for the day or overnight depending on numbers) and try to pinpoint a date that suits the majority (poll votes ftw?)
Then we shall begin organizing the final details. I will need help with organizing some events and getting some equipments (t.v/s games/anime)
Then the day will arrive, and it will be fun!
Then it will be finished, and we will be tired from having so much fun.
Then we will want another event because it was fun.

Hmm, well if we can’t go in the hall, lets camp outside it! LOL.
…No I don’t know yet, find another hall, or have a Christmas Cosplay Picnic or something… TBA.

I still want a few more, if you know people that don't visit cnz often but will be keen, tell them about this thread! Remember, hiring the hall will be CHEAPER, if we have more people staying.
I will need to know numbers shortly~

I'm going to contact the hall to see if its available, in the meantime does the date 15-16th (Sat/Sun) December suit the majority?

Lennon and I arn't free the night of the 15th due to Lennon's work dinner, so another weekend would be preferred, but if the majority prefer the 15/16th we are happy to just attend the days :)

So the party is still going ahead, I'll try and keep this thread updated of any changes, but it is being organised via facebook!
Being a facebook nub, I dunno how the event and invites work, so I'm just assuming everyone got invited or can see the event... if not PM me~
