CNZ seems different, somehow... what's going on?

Recently, the mods got together and agreed that it's far overdue for the CNZ forums to get a wee bit of an overhaul and for some new life to breathed into it. No, CNZ is not now a zombie-- but we've added some changes and been planning some things we hope will liven up the place once again!

CATEGORY CHANGES

You might've noticed we've shuffled things around a little! Out with the old, in with the new: ACB, ACP, Birthday Wishes are all gone now, and the NCIS/CSI/Auckland/Wellington/Christchurch subforums have now been merged into simpler Island categories. Wigs & Hair + Crossplay & Make-up has been merged into one category, too. There is also a new subforum, CNZ Sketchbooks, and CNZ Challenges has been moved up a wee bit. Hooray, text wall!

CNZ SKETCHBOOKS

Go check this subforum out and see what members with sketchbooks already are doing with it! The mods were thinking of something that would be both interesting for other users to view and something that would be practically useful to display the talent in our community, and this was one of the solutions we came up with. Please test it out, give it a go and enjoy yourselves!

CNZ CHALLENGES

Look out for these over the next couple of days or so, and if you have a challenge to suggest then post in the suggestion sticky! Keep checkin' the CNZ Challenges subforum, or subscribe to CNZ's twitter (@cosplaynz) to hear when the next challenge is coming out. First challenge lined up is a logo design contest for a redesign of CNZ's logo, so keep your eyes peeled!

POWER WEEKEND CHALLENGES

Because, let's face it: we're all procrastinators. Every weekend, there will be a dedicated 'power weekend' thread for those who are needing that extra little bit of motivation to get their stuff done! Commiserate with the others in the thread, brag about how many beads you just sewed on-- this gives you an incentive to knuckle down and SEW. Inspired by the CNZ power hours!

SO WHAT DOES THE FUTURE HOLD?

Currently we're working out the details for a logo competition! Which will open a whole bunch of options! There's also discussions about moving forum hosts further in the future, and hosting ourselves, so we can offer you guys some kick-butt gallery options and user profiles, as well as having more control over the sites general layout.

i really like the sketchbook idea! its really nice to be able to see individual's work in progress and makes it much easier to comment, ask questions etc. specific to the cosplayer.
