[CHCH] Cosplay competition - SANCON

HEY ALL~

For those cosplayers in Chch, there is a wonderful con called SANCON on this weekend. It's a bit of everything and they're hoping to continue to grow it each year!

This year there the cosplay competition is returning once again. You can enter bought/commissioned cosplays as well as ones you have made yourself (both are judged in separate categories).

It'll be quite different to the comp for Armageddon. Sign ups close on the Sat 29th sep with the comp being held on Sunday. You don't need to write up everything you did to make your cosplay, but please come willing to talk and share the different aspects and techniques used. Individual judging will be in the morning and then awards given on the main stage in the afternoon!

Should be lots of fun so make sure you enter or come along to support your friends!

There are going to be a few cosplayers there. I am only going Sunday (downside of working saturdays!) and shall be cosplaying and judging the cosplay comp~ Most people who are going will be used to seeing cosplayers at geddon so won't be anything new for more people ^_^

I still can't decide how hardcore I wanna go... D: Do I wanna really wanna walk around in a costume that's hard to walk in, or should I go for a light-weight costume that I can move in...

PS: for bought cosplays, how is it judged? Precise-ity? Character closeness? @___@ Wanted to ask you 'bout that...
PSPS: Why is cosplay competition also on the timetable for saturday? D: I may not be going to SANCon on sat... prob only going for one day T___T too many assignments due.

For the bought cosplays it'll be 'look-a-like' more than anything. Purely because there's nothing else to really judge (unfair to judge how it was made after all).

I have no idea why it's on saturday. Neither Anne or I can make it sat. As far as we know judging is in the morning on sunday. Location TBD

I am making a list of people in the comp. If you say you would like to enter on here (WITH YOUR CHARACTER PLEASE) it will be all good~
Yup. Everything is very last minute but we shall get there in the end!

I haven't been before. But I would say it's maybe slightly spread out, so I would go for ease of movement. Besides there are so many stuffs you can do both inside and outside, like casting pewter (a really good skill for cosplay), swordfighting, roleplaying, games, sitting down to watch sci-fi/anime, etc. So I would say a comfortable cosplay that didn't cost squid-zillions.

So... don't know when judging is happening yet. I will be there from 10am and if all else fails I'll find each of you and do judging things when we can~

There aren't many entries so it'll be a nice small group!
