Hello guys! newbie here

Hello I'm an amateur cosplayer 15 years old . I'm planning to cosplay as "L" (Eru Roraito from Death Note) or Rokujo Miharu (from Nabari No Ou) in Auckland Armageddon 2012 . Can anyone give me advice about cosplaying?
People been saying I look like an anime Cool

because of my hair and told me that I should cosplay Smile

I might be going to Armageddon alone and that's kinda sad hopefully I can bring friends Very Happy

Can I ask a question? If your cosplaying a boy character, do you have to wear make up? or is it just for girl cosplayers??

Hey! You should cosplay Miharu! I love Nabari no Ou and I'd love to see a cosplay of him! I've been meaning to cosplay him too ... but lots of my plans take some time to happen Razz

As for the makeup, just do whatever you're comfortable with Razz

. When I cosplay males I do my makeup in a more manly way (not that I can look manly to save my life). It's like using darker colours than your skin to shade the more masculine face features that males have. I'm not a makeup pro, but I can go into more detail if you're interested. Or searching 'male cosplay makeup' on deviantart or google could give you some ideas!

I find most males don't wear makeup for cosplay, but if you want to, go ahead! I'm pretty sure there are a lot more male cosplayers overseas who do use makeup.

I find makeup makes photos look better Razz

I'm quite red in the cheeks normally, so I wear makeup when I cosplay so I don't look retarded in photos (not that everyone looks retarded, it's just my skin personally, lol).

If you're male no one will care if you wear make up or not Razz

Same if you're female, but a lot of us females on cnz like to wear makeup while cosplaying |D. ... It's fun 8D;;

oo Nabari no Ou! One of my favourite series :33 I've been meaning to cosplay Raimei for years woops.

And yeah what Pura said for makeup! It definitely will make you look better in photos, even if its not much. Just for males tone it down a bit - don't use too heavy eye makeup and maybe use concealer on your lips to tone the colour down a bit. You can also look into contouring tutorials to help appear a bit manlier.

Welcome to cnz! Don't be afraid to approach any cosplayers at armageddon, we're a pretty friendly bunch :)

If you go to armageddon cosplaying what do you exactly do there? and there's four days of the armageddon, which one of those days is the cosplay?

Cosplay competition is on Monday.
Cosplay games are on Sunday
And the Masquerade ball is on friday.

So if you're just going one day, I would say monday, as that's when all the kick-butt cosplays will be on the prowl.

We cosplay every day! If you go all days you can wear the same cosplay every day, or you can wear a different cosplay for every day, or you can pick just one day to cosplay Razz

Monday is always really fun because it's the competition! So all the amazing hard core cosplays are on during that day, haha. So really it's do what ever you want Razz

I do a bit of shopping, get some food, wonder around, and most of all I talk to my friends who I only get to see a few days a year at Armageddons, or talk to new people entirely! It's the people that make Armageddon awesome for me, so if you just approach people and start talking to them, it's awesome! Razz

I'm always open to talking to new people Razz

I have been planning on it for months now! I might go on Saturday as well with my friends and buy stuff and on Sunday with my parents for cosplay Very Happy
