Crazy insane boss fights.

As Iv'e been playing a lot of Kingdom hearts BBS, Iv'e being noticing the extreme difficulty spike (more like cheap one hit kills) in the 2 optional boss fight of remnant Vanitas and no name.

Got me think, whats the hardest boss you've ever faced in a game, and what was difficult or cheap about it.

Just curious.

No one in my family was smart enough to do pattern recognition in order to beat him. Now he is cake.

to many to count but the one i can think of on the top of my head is the elite 4 in pokemon
(Do forgive me if this doesn't count as a boss fight)
the reason why I find them annoying is because of a personal thing. bk when i first got pokemon I didn't knew jack about the pokemon world. i only knew cretin things from the tv show but when i encountered the elite 4 i did not expect such powerful beings and even if you can get there health to the red line they use full restore.
but by far. the part that annoyed me the most was that there is a champion to take down and half of my pokemon were dead and then getting my ass handed on a golden plate.

Oh man if we're talking about insanely hard boss fights I have to bring up the Mercedes vs. Oswald fight from Odin Sphere.

I absolutely love Odin Sphere, the art style and gameplay are excellent but the difficulty curve takes a giant spike when you have to fight Oswald so early in Mercedes story.

Final Fantasy X (PAL Version - the one most kiwis should have) - Penance. Takes about 1-2 hours to beat him. Ugh.

its wasn't exactly the hardest one, but i have a cool story from final fantasy X-2 ~*EPIC STORY TIME*~
I was facing yojimbo in that cave place, and i had cast beserk on Paine. Suddenly he used an attack which i totally saw coming, but for some reason did nothing to prevent! It killed Yuna and Rikku, and left Paine with 3 H.P.... and she was poisoned.... i thought i was screwed, and was about to give up... but then! luckily he didn't attack for 3 of my turns, and i killed him! YIPEE!

that was my story, i hope it changed your life...

or pretty much any fight in Valkyrie profile 2, in the Seraphic gate...

Pandemonium Warden in Final Fantasy 11. Wasn't Part of the 18 hour crew, but did a 10 hour shift on it.

We did lose. Badly.

Oh my god, I don't know if it was a glitch and we broke the game but I was playing Resident Evil: 5 co op with a mate and the final boss took like 2 hours to beat... We just kept losing. Had to take a walk and have at it again after a break.

OK.. heres a killer one.. During the Wrath of the lich king expansion on world of warcraft. Our guild took about 2 weeks at 3 hours a night trying to kill the Lich King himself.. Not to mension the hours we spent in the Ulduar raid.. I would have to say Wow has the hardest boss fights i have come across..
