ME3 Alliance Dress Blues By zephyrine. 02/05/12, 12:25 pm |
| Hola,
I'm not great at the whole sewing thing, but I want to issue myself a challenge and rock out Commander Shepard.
For those that are in the 'know' with patterns and such, does anyone have any idea of a pattern that I could use to base this on?
Any advice would be appreciated

| You could use any women's slacks patterm for the bottoms - just press the pleats in, and you're done! For the jacket, I would use a mandarin collared jacket and adjust from there - you'd have to do a bit of piecing and playing to get the seams in the right place, but it would be easier to alter than a princess seamed garment. Probably make a mock-up first, fit it nicely, and then draw the new seam lines in, and make a second mock-up with the altered seams to double check :)
Any tunic pattern with bust darts would also work, if you can't find a mandarin collar/cheongsam jacket pattern. Sorry, I'm very tired; this might not make as much sense as I think it does! |

| First- Yayyyy, another Mass Effect cosplayer! I looove ME (well, mostly ME2, but three is not too bad). Second- when are you planning on wearing this? I'll be doing my James Vega, casual outfit on Saturday of Auckgeddon if you want to team up for some pics. I can do some boxing poses too, if you think you can "dance and talk at the same time." |

Interestingly enough, it makes sense! I now know a couple of things to look for, which is super :3

This I'm not sure about. If I can get it together quickly, Chchgeddon; if not... Well, I'm not sure. I would love to do Auckgeddon, but as I work part-time for practically nothing, funding that might be an issue. I'll have to wait and see :) |
