Where do you get your cosplay costumes? By YOKOs. 30/11/11, 03:17 am |
| I noticed that many guys have amazing cosplay costumes, and I do envy them.
May I ask how do you usually get your cosplay costumes? DIY? Or purchasing on-line? Or in local store?
Thank you very much for your reply |

| Practice! Just pick something simple, or try and follow a tutorial online. The more familiar you get with sewing, the better you get :) |

| What Static said. And research a lot. Google and Youtube are your best friends. Or if you can access Asian websites there are a lot of useful Japanese & Chinese blogs out there~
Also getting a sewing machine you know how to work helps too >>;; (Look for deals on Trademe~) |

| I've so far made all of mine! Although I might look into buying a few next year.
And yeah, if you don't know how to sew, just pick up a sewing machine, buy a few patterns and start with some simple stuff! :) I myself started sewing things like cushions (plain and simple square fabric, haha) and then for school stuff we'd make things like stuffed toys, so just picking a few basic things to make is a way to get better! |

| I make all my costumes myself. :) It's fun!
If you know someone who sews, ask them to help start you off. Borrow a few books from the library! Play around with your sewing machine (if you have one)! |
