The National Sci-fi Convention (which sometimes goes by the name of Au Contraire) is coming up soon! And apart from a stupidly lineup of geeky talk, costuming from scratch competitions and discussions about fanfiction, there is also a cosplay contest

You really need to sign up for the entire weekend to attend, but it's totally worth it. Browse around the site and see what else is going on.

Yes it will be worth it. You can expect food, fun, photographers and a few silly games.
Come for the day or for the weekend experience!

To the newbies out there (like me!): don't be shy and don't worry if you have no 'proper' costume. There will be a time set aside before the ball to scratch-build your costume - bring some bits or help yourself to stuff from our box of bits. Scratch-built costumes will be considered a different category, so you will not be competing against those with 'official' costumes.

Want to join us but still no costume? Non-costumed ones are welcome too.

I would really love to go to this! But exams are a few days after it. So not this year for me unfortunately.
